“Basic needs will be met”
We chose this hotel because of its price, proximity to the airport and a place to sleep and wash up. We did not use or planned on using the kitchen facilities. It reminded me of the hotel you find on the side of the road when you need a place to crash. I just wish it was a little cleaner.
“Pleasantly surprised!”
Although the room wasn't fancy, it fit our needs. It was clean and we didn't have any problem with traffic noise when we tried to sleep. The hotel was located close to everything we needed, i.e. bus line, restaurants, shops and the beach. The only negative is that some of the bathroom tile grout needs to be whitened. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
“Great Location and good room set up but filthy!!!”
We stayed for 2 weeks at the Hokele suites. Our linens were changed only twice during our entire stay and we had to ask both times. Housekeeping staff poorest on island ... when you asked for something they gave you attitude. Bathrooms never touched - we cleaned ourselves. These could be great suites but it seems like nobody cares. Front staff were excellent.
“Cheap hotel.”
Room was big. bathroom was really small. No room service.
“perfect location to party”
The place is located super close to the beach and to the main nightlife going on around waikiki beach. However the stuff at the hotel was not that friendly, one of my friends was arguing with the person at the desk and the employee called him "an Idiot" which is really unprofessional. The pool is small, cold and... well sad! This hotel is good if you just go there to sleep: do not consider the fact they say they have kitchens, they are SO SMALL you won't do anything with it.
“The worst hotel ever and will never stay there again”
To be exact, this is a motel. The room is very old and dirty. The quilt and blanket are all very old and dirty. There is bedbugs. The smell is bad. They charge $20 for parking and $20 for internet service each day. It's really not worth your money to stay there. After one night, I switched to another hotel which is much better and reasonable fee. I will never stay there again. It will ruin your vacation!
“Good enough place to stay without frills and with the basics.”
We were satisfied with this hotel. The staff was responsive. The room was clean, even if not new and shiny. The location was convenient. It was a very ok experience. If you are looking for a basic place to stay, this will work. If you are looking for luxury, etc.... then keep looking.
“bargain price in aging hotel”
We were happy with our stay. I would recommend only for those wishing to do Waikiki on a smaller budget and with the understanding it is an older aging hotel, especially shows in the bathroom. Beds were comfortable, kitchenette functionable.
“If you are not too picky great location”
We had a great time in Waikiki launching out of this hotel. I was a little uneasy on arrival because of all the negative comments on the web but after settling in we were fine. The maids and staff were very, very nice so that overcame an OK room. Needs update but that would not stop me from going back. We were looking for economy and location so Castle Hokele Suites Waikiki definitely fit that bill. If you need that new modern look and feel you won't be happy. We parked in their garage and as others have said it is tight but we had no problem with a Chevy Impala if you can negotiate small spaces. Very limited spaces but they have parking down the street. We easily walked most everywhere and "The Bus" can get you most anywhere for a $1 or $2 with one free transfer when we were there 2011. Lovely trip!
“Acceptable”
Being on a budget trip, where you are all out in the sun the whole day and needs a bed at night, this hotel is acceptable when it comes to cleanliness, comfort and convenience , it is a safe haven with accomodating front desks personnels and I was glad we stayed....
