“Not impressed”
The people that work at the hotel are very nice and helpful but the room was not clean. I opened the ice bucket and it was filled with garbage and the cockroaches were everywhere.
“A place to get cleaned up, and store your luggage...and that's about it.”
Pictures were quite misleading, looked like a very well "updated" place with nice beds and comfortable surroundings...non of which were accurate. From staying in Jamaica to Vegas, we have stayed in just about every type of place available that didn't require us to take out a small mortgage to cover it. And from all the pics and misleading reviews, the Aqua Peal Waikiki is nothing like what you see on expedia or any other site. Rooms are ok size, have flat-panel tvs and that is about it... beds are like sleeping on cardboard covered stone slabs, we arrived to a clean room...however, having 4 of us (two adults and two kids)...2 towels just wasn't going to cut it. Upon seeing a cleaning person and requesting more towels, she was pleasant in saying she would take care of it... well, she left us NO TOWELS... and that happened twice! Front desk personnel is friendly and pleasant, parking is rediculous...$20 a night for "first come, first service, no guaranteed parking" is how they opperate. All in all, I definately will not go back, and will not refer anyone there. We made the best of our trip, and had a good time in Waikiki...but the hotel is definately lacking! As for location, it is close to the International Market...but there is a lot, of nightly screaming and yelling out in front of the hotel. We were woken up nearly each night from anyway where around 1 am... to 4 am with people out front yelling and screaming (drama central). Consider your options before you book this hotel
“Extremely friendly...great stay!!!”
This was a wonderful place to stay. The people were extremely friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this to a friend, or return there myself!
“Affordable, but small rooms.”
Checking on the website, I thought the rooms would be a lot bigger, but once I arrived, I noticed that my room was small and had the view of the parking lot. At least I was mostly outside exploring Waikiki. The bathroom could use a little work. The faucet was working, but the pressure of the water was weak and was spraying three different directions. The hotel did not have any types of amenities, just a little sports bar connected on the side. The parking lot was small (total of 15 cars parked). The price was affordable, even though I split it with a friend. I recommend this hotel to travelers that would only use it for sleeping and not the amenities.
“good room for great price..”
i've been staying at this hotel for almost a month and i have found no problem with the hotel staff or the hotel itself. the hotel staff are extremely friendly and i have gotten to know a few of them. no favors were given of course. the cleaniness of the room and the round clock maid service good. they even came back despite the usual rounds just to clean up my room.
“A good stay”
We come here regularly for mixed business and leisure purposes. The location is ideal in the center of Waikiki, just walk 100 ft and you enter the International Market Place. The Bus station is even closer. The hotel can provide you with a bus schedule for all major attractions in Waikiki and Honolulu. The rooms are tidy and we love to sit on the balcony after dark. The atmosphere is great. If you need more towels, just ask the front desk and they bring it up. The staff is great in assisting you with any questions you might have.
“Great value, great location”
This was the ideal hotel for our family. We had a 3 bedroom suite with full kitchen for a one week stay and found the location and facilities to be very convenient. It was a short 2 block walk to get to the beach and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. There were a few 'dive' bars in the area but we always felt safe walking with our children, even at night. The staff were very friendly and helpful always obliging with a smile when we asked for extra towels. The parking at the hotel was limited but we never had issues if we parked our car early. The one time we got back late we had to go to the overflow car park which was just across the street. Overall we felt very happy with our hotel choice and would definitely stay here again if we return to Waikiki.
“Worst Hotel Experience Ever!”
Hotel Staff was courteous and respectful, room wasn't even close to what was advertised, view was terrible and neighborhood was very very poor and noisy. Also parking was hit and miss even with reservation and they expected the guest to park two to three blocks away from the hotel which was extremely inconvenient.
“Aqua Pearl pros and cons”
First and foremost the staff was great. Our first room the a/c was not cooling the room and we were upgraded to a larger room with great air. Beds in both rooms were the same-firm. TV was larger in the bigger room. The hotel was right in the middle of downtown Waikiki-convenient but noisy. The hotel itself had only 15 parking spaces with overflow parking at 2 different garages 1 to 2 blocks away. Rooms had standard mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot. No wi-fi in rooms only hardline. Wi-fi was available down in the lobby and conference room. If you go to Waikiki to shop the strip this place is a good deal. If you are on Oahu to sightsee and go to the beach you should shop around. The best way to spend time on Waikiki beach was to either walk from the hotel(4-5 blocks) or drive east of the beach to the zoo and park there and walk back to the beach area(about half-mile).
“Not bad”
Not bad for the price very close to everything
