Nice but not fancyPosted 15-Feb-2014
Pros: It was an easy two block walk to the beach. The rooms were clean and well attended. The staff was friendly and very helpful.
Cons: Some traffic noise but that could be drowned out by the air conditioner if you choose to run it all night.
Location: It's part of the beach strip so there are lots of restaurants and shops nearby.
This is a very nice, older hotel that is close to the beach and very comfortable. The staff was helpful and pleasant. I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

Nicest people!!!Posted 1-Feb-2014
Cons: The beds
The staff was so nice and super helpful. We were able to schedule all tours we wanted to go on through the hotel. The free beach towels were awesome. The beds weren't super soft but worked fine for me. There were some cosmetic repairs that would make the hotel look better. The walk to the beach was so easy. Overall, I would definitely stay there again.

Perfect budget locationPosted 21-Jan-2014
Pros: Big room, free Wi-Fi, location, complimentary coffee, tea, water and lemonade 24 hours.
Cons: Rooms could do with an update.
Location: 5 minutes from the beach. Perfect for shopping and restaurants.
This is a great hotel in terms of value for money. The room was surprisingly big. We had two queen beds, a balcony, fridge, microwave and a sink. There was complimentary coffee, tea, water and lemonade 24 hours and the concierge service was also really good for booking trips. Staff were always helpful and friendly. Wi-Fi was mostly ok and free. Location was great, in the main shopping area just 5 minutes from the beach. The rooms were a little dated in terms of décor but these were just cosmetic and irrelevances for us. For service, value for money and location, this place is real hidden gem. HIGHLY recommended.

Nice hotel in the cheaper price rangePosted 7-Jan-2014
Stayed at the Bamboo over the 13/14 new years period. Had no complaints, was just a nice hotel a block back from the beach with a very easy walk. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were of a good size and beds comfortable. Overall was a pleasant experience

Beautiful Boutique HotelPosted 29-Dec-2013
This was just a lovely place to stay. The room was exceptionally clean, though a bit small and slightly dark. Our lanai did not have much of a view to the water, but the night skyline to the mountains was very pretty. The mini-fridge and microwave, along with the included dishes and silverware, helped to defray the cost of eating out, especially with the number of local farmer's markets taking place. The sauna was great, the laundry facilities convenient, and the pool refreshing (it was quite cold, though, as the sun never seemed to shine on it enough to warm the temperature). The proximity to the beach was perfect, as well as the hotel's prime location on Kuhio in central Waikiki. With only ten floors, the atmosphere seemed much more intimate and comfortable than the massive tourist compounds in the area. We found the bellhop attentive at check-in and check-out, and the front desk staff friendly and helpful (someone did assist us in connecting to the internet, as well as printing out information from the web). Add to all of this the fact that the hotel is eco-friendly, and it is nearly perfect. I have traveled the world, and this numbers among my favorite places. I would look forward to staying again!

The hotel was in a good position. Transport closePosted 5-Dec-2013
Pros: I found the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. I also like the fact that the hotel was quite private and almost boutique.
Cons: The airconditioning, the bathrooms and double glazing to eliminate street noise.
Location: Set one street back from the main area meant that the foot traffic was less so not too busy. Buses to other locations right outside the door .
The hotel was very clean but it is a little tired. The beds were comfortable and clean. The little kitchenette was useful. Unfortunately the age of the hotel is showing in the bathrooms. They could really do with a makeover . Also the airconditioning is old so consequently very noisy. The rooms could do with double glazing as you could hear the street noise. The pool surrounds and foyer were pleasing. Overall the experience was great as one didn't expect 5 star luxury. So I would say that it was value for money.

Nice hotelPosted 23-Nov-2013 on Hotels.com
If you want a nice hotel that's also nice on your wallet. Aqua Bamboo is the spot. Not the best hotel ive stayed in, but its decent, especially since I spent more time outside enjoying Oahu than in the hotel. I really just needed a place to sleep and shower, then off to explore the island. Parking is $25/day. And the hotel is about 3 blocks away from the beach, very close to everything in Waikiki.

Noisy street. Concierge said it was 30min walk to diamond head, took over an hour and they didn't inform us it closed at 4:30 and there was a fee. Booked a tour that concierge said it had learn to surf, it didn't.
