“Great midrange choice”

Loved the rooms, great location, basically right in the middle of everything. The continental breakfast was a nice touch too.

“Great place to sleep in a convenient location.”

We had a great stay at this hotel. But we are not fussy people. We have worked out of tents for our jobs in remote locations, so anytime we have a real room to stay in we enjoy it more than the average person. This is not anything against this hotel though, we have stayed in much worse hotels for much more money. If you are looking for a place with a great rate, clean room, and friendly staff then this is the place for you. We did not spend too much time in the hotel since we were here on vacation, which was probably a good idea since they were doing renovations to the outside during normal business hours. The renovations never bothered us. The hotel is in a great location, near restaurants and beaches, and in the middle of the Waikiki strip so we never had to walk far to the malls, restaurants, or beach. And there were no bugs when we stayed. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely stay again!

“Comfortable Hotel”

The Aqua Bamboo is within walking distance to Waikiki beach and shopping. The hotel has recently been re-done and is generally very nicely done. The bath tub/shower in our room had not been re-done though and was quite old. Not sure if they just hadn't gotten around to this part yet or just figured they could cover it with the shower curtain. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and would say it is a good deal for the price.

“Good but understaffed”

The Aqua Bamboo was clean and the staff were friendly. However on several occasions I had to wait around for the one front desk person to be free to help me. The pool area and lobby are quite nice. Parking was $20/day and the breakfast was quite minimal.

“Very good for the price”

This was quite a nice hotel for the price! The pool area was a great escape from busy Waikiki and the hotel's feature drink, the bamboozle ( ask for it at the lobby between 5 and 6 on Thursdays) was very tasty. Staff were friendly and gave a lot of good advice on getting around Honolulu. The continental breakfast, although the same every day, was a real treat. Hotel's rooms are decent and the A/C worked almost a little too well.

“Had a great time, but will probably try another next time.”

I had an excellent time in Hawaii, and was happy staying at this hotel. The location is great, just a short walk to the beach. It's convenient for the bus, and is on a main street in Waikiki, close to everything. I have to admit I was expecting more for the price though. It seemed a little old. There were crumbs in the dresser. The furniture seemed a little on the cheap side. The bathroom had some strange stains in it, and the bathroom light wasn't working properly. Perhaps there was a shortage of staff, as the rooms weren't made until early afternoon, so we often went out and came back to an unmade room. The juice in the morning breakfast was delicious, but the so-called continental breakfast was just juice, a piece of fruit or two, and some unhealthy muffin or similar "pastry". The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. They even remembered my room number. The elevators ran well, usually not requiring a wait. The pool and hot tub were nice and not crowded when I was there. The best things about this hotel would be the location and front desk staff. I wish this hotel the best, but I think it needs a little more attention to the rooms, so next time I'll check somewhere else out.

“Nice little hidden gem!”

Would come back;). Great boutique hotel. Great location. Friendly staff. A bit noisy at night, but that's Honolulu for you!

“Get what you pay for”

This Hotel is very standard, what more can you expect from a 2 1/2 star hotel. You get for what you pay for. It is consider a comfortable hotel. We had a room with half a kitchen. If you are worry about dirtiness, I recommend not to get room with a kitchen. The hotel is old. Many things are not up to date, but they tried to keep it clean. If you are low in budget and not going to spent many time in the room, this will be an alright hotel. It's close to Wakiki beach, bus stops and many restaurants.

“Aqua Bamboo and Spa”

Good value for your money. The hotel cleaning service wasn't the best but for the price your paying this was excellent. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful.
