“highly recommend”
My first thought when I got off the elevator on my floor was the the hallways were a little small for my taste, but as I open the door the my room; it was beautiful. The bed was comfortable and well made, I had three lanai's, the bathroom was clean and smelled fresh. The space was comfortable for only two to three people and any more would make it uncomfortable, but my friends and I made do. The jacuzzi was a bit small compare to other hotels, but the swimming pool was the perfect size. Overall my experience at Aqua Bamboo and Spa was a pleasant and enjoyable one. I would definitely stay again at this hotel.
“Secret Oasis in the Heart of Waikiki.”
Due to our airline connections, we had to arrive early and leave late. The staff were most helpful. We were delighted that they offered to store our luggage until check-in, but they went out of their way to arrange a room change so we could actually check in early as well. When we checked out at the last possible moment allowed, not only did they store our luggage, but they were gracious in allowing us to remain in the beautiful pool area and use all of the lobby facilities for five more hours! We also received extra help with configuring our computer settings to allow internet reception, and with excellent advice and directions regarding transportation. The Thursday Manager's Reception with signature cocktail, pupus, guest sketch artist, entertainment and spa specials was also delightful. I received a wonderful foot massage. Some remodelling of the balconies was progressing, but the staff made sure that it had minimal impact on the comfort of the guests. We will definitely stay at this hotel again on our next visit to Waikiki!
“Great Service”
Clean rooms and super friendly staff. Great price for a short 1-2 min. walk to the beach. Close to restaurants and shops. Very convenient!!
“Great Location”
We stayed here for our honeymoon. The continental breakfast was delivered daily to our room although we could have had it by the pool. Yogurt, juice, pastry and coffee. Was within walking distances of many souvenir type stores, upscale stores (i.e. Prada, Coach, etc.), restaurants of all types, and the beach of course. Is on the busline and trolley line so no real need for a car. But several car rental and moped rental services within one block of hotel. Parking is very limited at hotel. Had a great view of ocean and pool. Was a wonderful stay! Very comfortable.
“Super place to stay in Waikiki”
Overall, I loved the Aqua Bamboo hotel. It's definitely not "high end", so if that's what you're looking for, go elsewhere. For a traveler on more of a budget who wanted a nice place to stay near all the action, it suited me perfectly. It's in a great location just three minutes from the main part of Waikiki Beach, and near all the nightlife. The hotel has very pleasing, tasteful decor in the lobby, the rooms, and the pool area. It's very clean. The pool area is cozy and heavily secluded from streets and surrounding hotels. The pool actually has a faux waterfall where the circulated water drops back into the pool, and it's a nice touch. The hotel also has coin operated laundry facilities on multiple floors. If I would've known about that ahead of time I would have brought fewer clothes than I did. I would highly recommend the hotel. There was just one minor thing that mildly bothered me. My room had the old fashioned separate hot/cold shower controls, and on the first day it was quite a tricky process getting the hot and cold settings to produce a consistent shower water temperature. Even when I got things about where I wanted them, the temperature would oscillate above and below my optimal point. Having a single water control lever might improve things. I did adapt to the controls and did just fine with my showers, so don't let this deter you from staying here. Overall, I'm thrilled I chose to stay at the Aqua Bamboo.
“Would stay again”
The hotel is close to waikiki beach and other waikiki attractions. The staff is friendly and it was nice to have a kitchen in the room. The pool is small but we spent most of our time at the beach so we didn't mind.
“Can't wait to go back!”
I really enjoyed my stay here. I had read several bad revues of this hotel, but NONE of them were true. This hotel was clean and the staff was helpful. I would stay here again.
“Happy with Aqua Bamboo in Waikiki”
The staff was extremely courteous and friendly. The hotel was in an ideal location, with a plethora of restaurants and eateries. Very convenient to the beach and not far at all from Diamond Head and Honolulu's version of Rodeo Drive.
“Good things come in small packages”
The room was modern, had all the amenities I needed, and althought small, was perfect for one person. The 2 staff I spoke with were great, and helped get a taxi, carry up my bags etc with a smile. Love the flat screen tv and kitchenette. Could have used an internet cable so that I could actually connect to the free internet service.
“Nice little hotel in a great location”
My boyfriend and I were quite impressed with this place. We only stayed for two nights, and I think this hotel is perfect for that length of stay. Close to the beach, close to great restaurants and shops and nightlife of Waikiki. We reserved a Studio Deluxe room for a fantastic price and were given a spacious room on the 2nd floor overlooking the very pretty pool. Room was newly painted and nicely decorated. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. The only thing was that the kitchen was not as clean as I'd want it to be in order to use it. (It wasn't filthy or bug-ridden or anything like that, it just was not *sparkling* clean.) However, since we only stayed for 2 nights, we didn't use any of the kitchen facilities at all, so that wasn't an issue for us. Overall, we were very happy with the whole experience.
