I stayed in this hotel after seeing the positive reviews on Expedia for it, especially since it was so reasonably priced. I am very particular about cleanliness, and would normally pay more for a hotel just to ensure that it is neat and clean. With this hotel, I was very happy with the quality and cleanliness of the room and paid far less than I thought I would have to get that kind of quality. Can't beat free parking either! The lot was pretty full, so I had to park on one of the last rows, but it wasn't too far away from the building at all.
Coming into the lobby while checking in (6/24/15), you couldn't help but notice the pile of carpet (old or new, I don't know) to the left. It became immediately apparent they were undergoing some renovations. The elevator was slow to arrive after being called, and bumpy and noisy once inside. I hope it was on the list for improvement. We used the stairs most of the time after that first day. Upon reaching our floor, I went to the little room with the ice maker and soda machine, neither of which were working, also hopefully on the list for renovation. Inside the room, it was clean, the flooring all appeared to be new. Housekeeping and staff were barely noticed unless you were looking for them, say, at the front desk. Everyone was friendly and apologetic about the repairs. Overall, our experience was a little less than perfect, but, I think they'll have it all straightened out soon!
Northwest San Antonio’s gentle, rolling hills mark the transition from prairie to Texas Hill Country. In a nod to the local history and geology, The Rim entertainment and retail complex is housed inside a former quarry. Nearby, The Shops at La Cantera angle for well-heeled consumers. This area is also home to two major theme parks: Six Flags Fiesta Texas and SeaWorld San Antonio.
