“good enough for us, great location if visiting smithsonian and the capitol.”

The hotel is modern with its design, good view of the Potomac river, close to the metro station and several restaurants. Free coffee and hot cocoa till 9 am but you have to go downstairs to get it, very inconvenient and if you sleep in (which I always do when on vacation) you are out of luck. They have a free wine tasting event every night at 5 - 6 pm, we never had a chance to do that since we were still in the capitol and museums around that time. Couple of things that went wrong, the bathroom sink was clogged, the tv was acting up, one of the maintenance guys had to go to our room and tell us that we might have to move to a different room if he cannot fix it. Meanwhile our 6 year old son was getting frustrated, he was trying to watch the movie happy feet. It got fixed in about 20 minutes. Oh by the way, the pillows were too thick and hard, you will have a sore neck in the morning. Hotel palomar is ok, not impressive but it met our needs. The location is great.

Smithsonian museums, the zoo its amazing, the presidents memorials, arlington cemetery.

Getting around

Take the metro whenever possible, its so cheap and convenient, even with luggage - theres no restrictions. It cost us less than $5 to go to the airport compared to $30 if you hire a taxi or super shuttle.

“Best Hotel in Rosslyn”

“Stylish, Convenient, Comfy”

Loved the fact that it is a hop to the Metro and a Skip to Georgetown. We were able to walk everywhere. The service was amazing. Everyone there is so helpful and friendly. The rooms were neat, stylish, and very comfortable. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel!

A short walk to the Metro will get you anywhere in the city- Rosslyn Stop

Shopping

Georgetown had fantastic outdoor shopping. It was a great walk outside and HUGE stores.

“One of the Best Hotels I've ever stayed at !!!!”

When I booked a mystery hotel thru expedia, I was a little scared. But when I got to the hotel, it was very very posh! I couldn't believe I got such a great deal on a very upscale hotel. The bedlinen was to dye for! If I could give it 10 stars I would!

“Palomar, Arlington, VA”

Great hotel for the price. It was nice to have free wifi. The parking was a little pricey, but not out of line with other hotels in the area. Location is a bit confusing because it shares the building with residential apartments. Kimpton does a great job with decor. The rooms are a cut above your standard hotel rooms. I've stayed there a couple of times already and would be happy to stay there again.

“If ever, I have to come tot the Washington DC area, this hotel would be my first choice.”

Location tot he airport. (National.....just a short 15 Metro ride. Transportation to BWI (Baltimore/Washington Airport via rail) again very easy. Saturday morning breakfast brunch..very good, and at $15.00 a good value considering all of the choices. Proximity to Georgetown and American University...other than staying at the institution, it could not have been better. Decor...what can I say,,,lovely art deco presentation. Only negative...$18.00 valet parking (but you can park on the street after 10 pm very easily.

“FLAWLESS!”

I think the best place to stay in DC unless you go 5 stars $400 and up. 10 minute walk to Georgetown, the best nightlife in DC. The staff is 5 stars and they have a wine gathering for guest that is free. I will definitely stay here again. I wnet to DC for Manchester United vs. Barcelona game at Fedex Field. The Hotel is one block from metro station and 3 stations (6 minutes) from White House. 6 stations from Smithsonian in the Mall where all museums are . You can not ask for something else. Thank you!

“Excellent Stay”

This is an excellent hotel (particularly as we got a great rate through Expedia). Every aspect was good: location (it's near the metro and also an easy walk into Georgetown), amenities, room size, furnishings, service, etc. I can't think of a single negative in relation to our brief stay.

“Hip, Comfortable and Quiet”

Spent two nights here with the family. One of a few hotels offering 2 queen beds. Convenient access to Rosslyn Metro station (block and a half) and downtown DC. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are nicely appointed. Would definitely return.
