“Recommended by a friend”
A friend recommend this hotel to us. We stayed 5 nights - we, too, would definitely recommend Hawthorn Suites in Alexandria.
“Friendly and Accomodating”
The staff was very friendly. I was greeted with a friendly smile and "hello" by every staff member I came into contact with - from the front desk to just meeting someone in the hallway. I arrived late in the evening and while there is no restaurant onsite, the front desk has several menus available from local restaurants providing carry out services. They even offered to call and place the order for me! Breakfast buffet was nice...good selection. The location of the hotel in comparison to the meeting place was perfect. I will definitely choose this hotel again if the need arises.
“Great Hotel and GREAT price!!!”
From the moment we pulled in there was plenty of parking in a very clean parking lot. When we walked in we were greeted with smiles and very pleasant people. Our room wasn't ready when we got there at 3:45 but no worries in less than 5 minutes we were given the keys to another room. When we walked in the room was basically an apartment. A nice size one bedroom apartment equipped with a kitchen and all. There were two flat screens TV's and a dvd player. The room was very clean and incredibly nice. The HOT breakfast in the morning was superb. They had a good amount of things to choose from. The commute to all the DC sights was very easy. Less than a 10 minute drive and we were in DC. I would stay again and again every time.
“A great place to stay to see Washington,DC”
The room was a complete suite (&sweet) which was ideal for traveling with put 10 yr old daughter. The king bed was sooooo comfortable. Tthe rooms liked completely updated and were very clean, The breakfast was very good as well and had enough seating to accommodate a large number of guests. The staff was very courteous and the shuttle to the metro was very efficient.

Read a review before booking in which the guest stated that the toilet ran constantly and noise from the interstate was a problem. I think we had the same room but closed the bathroom door and closed the heavier curtains at night to lessen the noise of both. The staff was some of the best I have experienced. They were excellent !!! Shuttle service to Metro was great and they provide the service to restaurants and stores in a two mile radius of hotel. Breakfast buffet was good but limited but far better than a " continential breakfast " offered at most hotels & motels. The managers reception was o.k. We were vacationing and wanted to experience the local fare more so than eat dinner at the hotel. We did have the chili dogs, salad, cake & beer one night and it was good. The food serving area and dining area were spotless when we were there. Very clean. I would not hesitate on staying there again.
“My New Get Away Spot”
This is really a nice place.to stay. A nice quiet area and we enjoyed the complimentary dinner n drinks. We called about our t.v. not working n someone came right away. I really recommend this hotel if you're looking for a place near the city with a reasonable price.

This was our first time staying at the Hawthorn Suites. The staff were friendly,helpful and welcoming.Loved all the accomadations:shuttle,breakfast,parking, internet access,clean rooms,etc. Will stay here again
