Nice but not great

Posted 16-Sep-2014
Pros: rooms very clean
Cons: parking and making information of the shuttle service available to guests.
Location: Pentagon, Pentagon Mall, DEA museum, Metro into all attractions in DC in the Mall.
I understand that there is a need to charge for parking in congestrd urban arers, however, their parking garage is beyond stupid. They obviously reduces the size of every space to a bear minimum (they should provide a can opener so that you can get back into your car) further almost every space has a concrete pillar on one or both sides and the isles are too thing to allow a wide enough swing so that you can pull into a space directly. My recommendation if you are not going to go in and out of the hotel (they charge every time you come back into the garage unlike the Marriott that charges valet parking by the day) to use the valet parking but check your car when picking your car up for damage since the employees obviously are hired by the demolition derby). If you are planning on going into DC to sightsee there is a Metro station at the Pentagon Mall (walking distance, rumor control has it that they provide a shuttle service to and from the mall but we never saw the van over two days), the Metro stops at Arlington National Cemetery and near all the major attractions in DC.

Easy, comfortable, and right by the airport. One of the better choices for a DCA airport,

AC Issues

Posted 16-Sep-2014
Cons: Room maintenance
Location: Good Location and shuttle to metro and Reagan airport a plus.
The AC in our room did not work the entire 3 nights we were there. We asked for maintenance to look at it a total of 5 separate times and it was never fixed. It was not pleasant having walked all day sightseeing to have to sleep in a warm room.

No control

Posted 9-Sep-2014
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: The accommodations for guests. They charged for wifi, no complimentary breakfast and the rooms were mediocrely kept.
Location: The location is wonderful in regards to distance from local attractions but the area is run down around it.
I stayed with a group of five people over the labor day weekend and when we first arrived the hotel seemed kind of run down for a hilton. Then when we got inside we were greeted and checked in with no issue before check in time. Awesome. Then the experience was down hill from there. First of all there were very inconsiderate families staying in rooms all around ours and they were non-stop noise the entire weekend. We even had to call hotel security to have them settle their children from knocking on the walls and blasting music at all hours of the night. One night in the main lobby the same family let their children hit the panic button on the escalator shutting it down for night and following day. Which is also a concern, considering how the escalator shouldn't be down for that amount of time anyways. Then their premier restaurant that spins to see the best view of DC could not have been managed more poorly. Right off the elevator the manager was arguing with the staff for all the see. Also he had no respect for how seating should be expedited. We as a group of five called ahead and was told to come on up without reservations needed, then we find that we have to wait because all the possible tables have been taken by pairs for the view. Then once a pair left the view seating a pair in the middle of the restaurant complained and was first told they couldn't move. Then after storming off the manager moved the pair to a 5 party table instead of seating us! Infuriating!

Comfortable hotel close to DC

Posted 8-Sep-2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Drab outside, very odd "club" at the SkyDome on weekends.
Location: Pentagon City Metro is 7 min walk away, making DC a quick ride away (c.15 mins)
Room had great view of the Capitol, was clean and super-comfortable. Shower and beds were especially wonderful. Location and price unbeatable for DC.

Labor Day Weekend relaxation

Posted 8-Sep-2014
Pros: The hotel has a shuttle that drops off at a mall right by a Metro station. It's convenient to get the train to Washington, DC to see the sights.
Cons: A bit of paint was peeling on the ceiling in my bathroom. The cover for the air conditioner was slightly off. Otherwise, the room was very nice.
Location: The hotel is located near the Pentagon Centre, many shopping areas, a grocery store, restaurants.
When I checked in, the type of room I reserved was fully booked. I was given an upgrade to a mini-suite. The staff is very friendly.

Fine hotel, great for the money.

Posted 4-Sep-2014
The hotel felt a little understaffed at the front desk and in the lobby. I had to figure out some things on my own. The location is a bit out of the way for people traveling on foot or using public transit, but the flip side of that is that it is very quiet, no traffic noise.
