“Pleasantly surprised”

The Candlewood Suites in Sterling, VA is a pretty basic hotel that perfectly fit my needs for my week long stay. My room was spacious and had a decent kitchenette and work desk. Although I didn't cook in my room it was nice to have a fulll sized refrigerator so I could store my drinks and snacks. The hotel is no frills and there is no restaurant or swimming pool. The hotel does sell snacks and drinks on the honor system from their small shop. There was a small gym and a free do-it-yourself laundry which was a nice touch. There were plenty of places to eat within a five minute drive and a very large shopping mall nearby. The hotel is in kind of an industrial park setting and was fairly quiet even though it is only 5 miles from Dulles Airport. The free wireless internet was only good for a 24 hour period at a time. It was a minor hassle to sign up for a new 24 hour period every day but it did work. There was an option to pay a nominal fee for a week at a time with increased bandwidth. I found the free option adequate for my internet needs. The Candelwood Suites was perfect for my needs and I got a great rate through Expedia. I would definitely consider them again in the future.

“Good and cheap close to airport and shopping.”

An easy place to get into and out of, has a small gym, snack area, rooms are fine. Not exactly close to downtown, but good if you have a variety of business at a variety of locations in the dc area.

Good rooms and amenities - close to a shopping mall and restaurants, easy access to the airport and area roads. Friendly and helpful staff. Strong reccomendation.

This hotel was wonderful! I was only here for one night, as my sister's graduation was in DC the following morning. I arrived super late for check-in since I was driving from Jersey. The concierge staff was sure to leave my room keys in a convenient combination-safe in the front lobby. I have never seen that before- super fancy. After getting my keys (we had two separate rooms- one for my parents) I parked in this shared lot with a neighboring hotel. Parking close to the front door was hard to come by, but I made due. And the characters loitering around the hotel parking lot didn't seem like the kind I wanted to tangle with. After walking inside there were well placed signs to the elevator, as we were staying on the second floor. The walk from the lobby to the elevator is abnormally long though. The room was spacious and comfortable. There was a kitchen with a large fridge and stove top and microwave. There was even an empty pitcher in the fridge for me to cool some water in overnight. All in all, I would totally stay here again! The place was very clean and tidy and exactly what I was looking for.

“Awesome place to stay!!!”

I was looking for an economical hotel/motel for a one week stay. I found this one on line that beat other prices and was conveniently located between DC site to see and others in Northern Virginia. Considering the price of the room I was totally shocked when we checked in to find a full size (apt) refrigerator, two burner stove, and microwave with a dining table, dishes, dishwasher, and soap for the dishwasher and hand washing dish soap as well. Also included in this fantastic room was laundry facilities free to use only needing to supply the detergent., it also has a full fitness center for use by guests, a BBQ area complete with grill and table and benches conveniently covered for rainy days. It is located on major highways and is designed for long term stays and the convenience and comfort for those who need to use long term accommodations.

“Home Away From Home”

Candlewood Suites definitely provide that "Home away from Home" environment... comfortable, relaxing an not restrained. I love their cupboard honor system.

“Decent value but far from DC”

Good value for money and great for Dulles & Northern VA govt offices. Bit far from DC though, and short-staffed hotel. Free laundry worked well. But electronic room key had to be replaced every day (worked for entrance and laundry but not for room access).

“Inexpensive long stay hotel, good location.”

Stayed at this hotel during a week long work trip to DC. Hotel is basically behind a Wal-Mart and Sam's Club, making it convenient to get supplies. The mini-kitchen was quite usable, TV was a bit small, and the bed could be a bit softer. But for the price, it was a nice play to stay on longer trips.
