“I will stay at this hotel again”

I had a very pleasant experience at the Double Tree in Rochester, MN. The staff was very friendly, the hotel was clean, and the conference rooms were comfortable. The location was also convenient to many downtown attractions. I would definately stay at this hotel again.

“Old fashioned comfort”

This is an old fashioned hotel; no frills but very comfortable and with all the necessities including free, fast internet, friendly service and breakfast too, The rooms are clean, the towels are thick and the pillows are soft. Convenient parking, free airport shuttle and an easy Metro connection make it a great choice for low budget family or business travel.

“Great value”

Clean and comfortable. The furniture hasn't been updated in years, but the bathroom was in good shape. The mattress was new and very comfortable. Great price for the area. I would go back and recommend it to my friends.

“DC Sightseeing”

The Americana Hotel is a great bargain for the cost-conscious traveller to the DC area. The hotel is in Crystal City, just outside of DC, and is within easy walking distance of two Metro stops. There is nothing fancy here, but it's clean, comfortable, safe, and quiet. Check the map, it's less than a block away from the Marriott (and some others in Crystal City) -- at less than half the price! The hotel provides free wi-fi and an on-demand courtesy shuttle.

“Great Deal for the Area!”

I stayed at the hotel to attend a conference in a nearby and much more expensive hotel. It was within walking distance. The hotel was clean and comfortable. I really appreciated the free breakfast, free parking and free wireless internet. I cant believe that it is half the price of the surrounding hotels! The hotel is a bit dated and the pillow was a little flat, but at half the price, who cares. The surrounding area was nice, a lot of other hotels and some apartnent buildings. As a woman traveling alone I felt very safe and went out for a walk each evening. I would recommend staying here especially if you are on a budget!

“Americana DC”

Nothing fancy, and don't count on breakfast, especially if you wake up late. One day there was just some donuts and the next day they ran out of food. BUT, it's around the corner from the Crystal City metro stop, and there is a Starbucks and other stuff nearby. Our room was clean, the bed and pillows comfortable. Perhaps because we did so much walking we were worn out, but both nights we slept like a rock. This is a basic hotel in a safe area with free parking and easy access to the city. Would likely stay there again.

“ADEQUATE”

Basic. Clean and close to the metro with free parking. Expensive considering how old it is, but I slept okay, which is all I cared about.

“Good value for money”

The hotel was very good compared to the money we paid. They provided good breakfast, but there wasnt enough food for everyone!! Rooms were clean and comfortable and staff were very helpful. Shuttle service made our lives easy, although the hotel is close to Crystal city and Pentagon city. In general our stay was pleasant.

“Actually better on the inside than outside”

This is obviously a discount motel, not to be confused with the many pricey hotels in the area. However, if that works for you, then this really isn't a bad place. The outside and the interior hallways are probably the worst part, painting a picture of place much in need of a face-lift. This led me to be a bit nervous upon check-in, but I ended up pleasantly surprised when I got to my room. It was actually in pretty good condition, seemingly having had some updates in the recent past, with no bad stains or wear or other signs of neglect common in discount motels. The bathroom was a bit more dated with some ugly tile and in need of some new caulking, but it was quite serviceable. Everything was clean and neat.

50% of the price of the conference hotel down the street. Not fancy, but convenient, friendly staff, no problems.
