Very welcoming. A personal tour is given on arrival with a welcoming drink. The staff are lovely. The room is spacious and comfortable. The pool area is nice, plenty of loungers, good sized clean pool. However, the day I sat out by the pool (late August) there were a multitude of biting flies which just wouldn't leave me alone unless I sat in the pool. Breakfast was wonderful, with delicious bread, cheeses, meats, pastries, yogurts, poor selection of cereals, but great range of fresh fruit.
The room towels were quite thin and it was a struggle to lock the door with the key. But overall this was a lovely place to stay and we would go again.
Obidos is a walled city with cobbled streets and a very long aqueduct going off into the distance. We ate some very nice meals there in traditional Portuguese restaurants recommended by the hotel.
