Outstanding experience. Safari was amazing, the rangers are very knowledgeable and passionate about conservation. The hotel is exquisite in terms of rooms, dinning and facilities. Tre staff were professional, friendly and a joy to interact with.
Nothing prepared me for the immediacy and intensity of the experience at Jamala. As an experienced traveller and visitor of other safari lodges I was struck by the intimate exclusivity of this lodge. No detail was overlooked. The wild life and African bush was centre stage, with this immaculate lodge the vehicle of an unforgettable experience. Rodney and Nico made you feel like you have arrived home after a long journey and small details like a hot drawn mineral bath after a game drive made this an incomparable experience. There is no doubt in my mind that I will visit again and as soon as possible.

We chose Jaci's for the the treetop lodges and were not dissapointed, wonderful location, superb hopsitality and fantastic game drives with brilliant staff. I've thought hard and can think of nothing to fault it. We had three nights in March and would go again tommorow. An exceptional African experience, delivering beyond expectations. Breakfast overlooking 35 elephants frolicking in the waterhole will last in the memory for ever.

Tau Lodge is located in the Madikwe Game Reserve in northwestern South Africa. My wife and I went to have the African safari experience and we were not disappointed. Daily rates include all meals and snacks, twice daily 3 hour bush trips (early morning and late afternoon), and individual rooms w/bath overlooking the water hole. You can sit on your deck between bush trips and watch as various types of animals meander into the water hole for a drink (we saw a herd of 12-15 elephants, warthog, various antelope and zebra plus birds too numerous to mention). Our ranger Megan proved very knowledgeable and entertaining who proved adept at finding numerous animals to observe. We saw 4 of the big 5 (elephant, rhino, Cape buffalo and lions), missing only a sighting of the always elusive leopard. Thanks to my wife (known affectionately in the family as "snake bait"), Megan even saw her first black mamba since she has been at Madikwe. Overall an enjoyable experience which we plan to repeat.

During our annual holiday in South Africa, we decided to take a quick break to the Madikwe River Lodge. It was a great experience with the most friendly and accommodating staff I have ever met at any resort/hotel. The facilities was great (luxury in the bush) and the game viewing was excellent. The knowledge of our guide and his willingness to share it, is commendable.
Really a great place for a short break!
My stay was only intended as a stopover on my way to a different destination, but really liked the property so much that I extended my stay. Beautiful property, fantastic staff, spacious and comfortable rooms, and lots of interesting historical memorabilia and such around the property. The food was really good in the onsite pub, with a particularly friendly and attentive staff that worked there. The wildlife onsite is not extensive, but charming nevertheless. Close to Sun City and Pilanesberg National Park, which was a surprisingly nice national park and very easy to self-drive.
