Nous avons beaucoup aimé. La chambre était propre et super confortable. En plus, le décor est vraiment beau. Le quartier nous a fait douter, mais nous étions à 5 minutes de plusieurs bars et restaurants. Et la beauté de la chambre fait oublié le décor extérieur.

The decor in the room and lounge were SO COOL and fun. The area surrounding the hotel was a little sketchy but the hotel itself made up for it.

The hotel and room is amazing and completely remodeled! The biggest downfall of this place is the area it is in. (Having to have security monitor it 24/7 tells you that you’re not in a good neighborhood). You could hear people across the street fighting one night and surprisingly gunshots another night around midnight. It’s about a 15 minute drive to downtown Charleston. If you could pick this place up and move it is better area it would be a 10/10!

Very clean, newly renovated, comfortable bed and nice thick pillows. The lounge was very cool with live music and a vintage vibe. We were there for a concert at the Firefly Distillery- and it was very close and convenient to the venue. It is on the outskirts of Charleston- about 10 minute drive to downtown. It’s kind of like an industrial area there is no shopping or dining within walking distance but the property was secure and felt safe. Would definitely return!

When we drove up, there was what appeared to be a dead cat in the parking lot. Well, it wasn’t dead and when we got out of our vehicle it became very vocal meowing incessantly at us. I’m sure it was nice, but we are not cat people and it would not leave us alone

Great property! Like how they have refurbished it and brought the retro back. Outside of the property is a rough area but with 24/7 security we never felt unsafe.

Check in is all done electronically so have not had any interaction w staff, but their texts and communication were wonderful. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy but I love how they’ve redone the property with the old school vibe.

Check in was different so read the small print. I don't mind the contactless check in but I never stayed in a place with no phone in the room. Also no microwave but has fridge. Just different kind of motel.

It was so nice not having to stop at the front desk to check in. They texted us a code and we were in our room immediately. The hotel was amazing. Great retro feeling. Comfy beds and nice, clean rooms! We loved it! Definitely going back!

My room at the Starlight was exceptionally clean, check-in process was smooth, and it was quiet during my visit, which I needed at the time. Staff that I had contact with was friendly, respectful, and delighted to assist in any way possible to make my stay a good one.

This is a nice property that the owners have really tried to refurbish and make cool. It was pretty much like just checking into an Airbnb except there was a bar attached. I have to say the bed was one of the best I’ve ever slept on it’s in a janky neighborhood but it’s only 20 minutes from downtown Charleston so the 200. On hotels can be spent doing other things. All in all it was a very positive experience. In five years, it will be in the heart of a re-gentrified area and the rooms to be 100 bucks more a night. Get it while you can

We were in a room right beside the door to the lounge. Both nights we stayed there were private parties in the loinge. The noise of people outside the lounge and our doir continued until midnight each night. The outsude doirs are so thin we coukd gear everything. There is no microwave in the room so e cept for a kerig to make coffee we could not heat anything.

Hello, Beverly! I'm sorry we didn't provide a 5-star experience for you which is of course our goal. The nights you stayed with us, we had some issues with noisy patrons as you well know. We have instructed security to help keep the door to the bar closed (& purchased an automatic door closer) to mitigate issues like this from happening in the future. Also, had you asked we would have delivered you a microwave. We provide them upon request. Thank you so much for staying with us!

A very cool slice of history that has been lovingly updated by owners who obviously care. The rooms are fresh, clean, inviting and retro-chic. The Burgundy Lounge is fun, staffed by cool folks and features a variety of musical opportunities from karaoke to dj’s. The neighborhood is in transition; the property itself feels safe and has a security guard present from evening through morning. However the surrounding neighborhood is still in the process of achieving the glory that Starlight has already achieved. A thoroughly enjoyable stay!

Was not expecting much upon first glance of outside however was pleasantly shocked at the room which not only clean and modern but tastefully done. The bed was great! Plus the TV has Roku! Did I mention a sound machine? Well done!!! Also had fun in the lounge.

So freaking cute! It’s definitely simple…it’s a motel after all. If you require a more modern place with full amenities, then this might not be for you. It was absolutely perfect for me! I walked around a little during the day and felt perfectly safe, but I did not feel like walking around alone at night was a good idea. The burgundy lounge upstairs was great as well. Awesome bartender and really good live music.

Fantastic little spot! Very cute rooms and super easy check in/check out. Location not the best, but also not the worst. Plus if you’re not feeling like going into the city, there’s a lounge/bar that’s super cute. Overall a good experience for a good price.

Family road trip
This was quite the find. Listen is not in the greatest part of town but it is convenient to get to everywhere. The hotel brings back nostalgic memories. The room is virtually brand new. Probably the cleanest room I've stayed in ever.
