We were pleased with the hotel from the time we entered. The staff were friendly and the hotel looked and smelled clean. Never a shortage of linens and location was excellent. Will reccommend friends.

The Barclay is one of the older hotels on the Virginia Beach. It was dated, but very cheerful, bright and clean. The room had a comfortable bed, a bathroom with a full tub, a fully equipped kitchenette, a living area with an ocean view (We watched the dolphins every day from the balcony! ) and it offered a continental breakfast every day. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is close to plenty of a variety of restaurants and ocean activities. Even though the facility is an older one, it was a wonderful place to spend a vacation. I would recommend this hotel to my friends for sure!

“Great Stay! Newly Renovated.”

This hotel was a great value and the perfect stay for me. All the rooms are oceanfront. I loved the extra sitting room and kitchen. My only complaint is that the water pressure was a little low. I stayed in November, so many of the shops and restaurants were closed. I highly recommend Mahi Mah's right down the street, as well as Waterman's.

Loved our stay here. The only complaint I have is the breakfast...not the best. Overall it was a great hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Nice location and the pool and spa were amazing.

Great room, excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. The exercise room, hot tub, and indoor pool were all great bonuses. Would definitely stay here again!

This is my second year staying at the Barclay Towers and I am extremly happy with my experience. Last year the hotel had representives from a Gold Key Resort, which are time shares. I was not happy with the the representatives tried to hound you everytime you walked in and out of the building. However this year weren't in hotel, so it made my stay more enjoyable. We had everything we needed; a small kitchen, equiped with utensils, pots, pans, plates and cups. The balcony has a gorgeous room of the ocean. We could see dolphins from the balcony. The location is great as it is close to everything; souvenoir shops, restaurants, jet skiing, miniture golf,.

When we first arrived, we were greeted by several firetrucks and police. We didn't know if the resort was on fire, for we didn't see any smoke or what was happening. We found an employee outside that told us that the hotel was flooded! We went inside to find parts of the ceiling falling in, guests complaining, firemen, police, and one of the frontdesks clerks, who by the way was completely professional, calm and answering everyone questions. She explained that a guest had hung wet clothing on the sprinkler system nozzle and of course with the weight it broke and flooded several rooms and floors. I don't remember her name, but I really felt for her! She put us on the otherside of the hotel and we didn't have any problem whatsoever. By the next morning, the ceiling had been fixed and we couldn't tell anything had happened. I would stay there again. Room was clean, comfortable bed and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Friendly fast service!! My girls and I had the best time ever!! Love the location! My favorite was the room design perfect for the whole family. The kids had there space and I had mine. Small kitchen was also great! Indoor pool the kids had a blast!!

“great place”

This is a great location for the beach. Walk right out the door- you got the beach, restaurants, and music. Not the busiest area which we like.
