“Friendly apartment block”
Functional apartments within a friendly block. Not the best views within the immediate vicinity, but quiet and a short walk to the beach. Good transport links to the rest of the beautiful Cote d'Azur!
“Lousy service”
We travel regularly with Expedia: this was the worst hotel we to date. Communications were no problem since my wife is totally bilingual with French. We arrived well before the 12.30 deadline to find no-one there. Expedia said it would be open at 14.00 but notice said 17.30. By chance the manager arrived and was most reluctant to book us in(he didn't open at all on Wednesdays - not a day to arrive! - and seemed almost delighted to tell us how an English family spent the night in their car because they had arrived after 19.30!). A 100euro deposit was demanded - which came as a surprise - and he only accepted cash or (French) cheque: no cards at all, even the local Carte Bleue. When we told him that we would be leaving before 07.00 he could only offer to post the 100euro back to us. The room had been poorly maintained with no inventory (though I later found one hidden, checked it through and found several discrepancies). Bedding was adequate and reasonably comfortable though the sofabed was on its last legs, with its mechanism slowly coming apart. Its situation, on the edge of a wooded area and just off the main Nice-Antibes road is quietly good, though parking could be a big problem in peak season. Nevertheless, this is one you should drop, Expedia. Your lady tried her best on the phones for us, but the manager is one of those "it's more than my job's worth" types: lazy, unfriendly and uncaring.
“Cheap but Cheerful”
First things first - don't let the photo's shown on Expedia fool you. Whilst the building in these photos does exist it is only one of four apartment blocks used and the building in which I stayed was completely different. My apartment was on the ground floor and therefore I had no balcony or outside space (the remaining floors all appeared to have) and the view from my apartment window was a small carpark and a wooden fence. The apartment itself was extremly basic yet at the same time adequate with all the essentials you would need for a short stay. There was no seperate bedroom, instead a double and a single sofa bed was provided and although extremely spacious admittedly it was a little uncomfortable. The swimming pool area was well maintained and virtually deserted during the week I stayed (end of May) and the location is extremely good - only a short walk away from the Marina, Restaurants, Supermarkets and Transport Links. The complex itself backs onto a large woodland area which is nice for strolling around for an hour or so and therefore the area is very peaceful. With this in mind I would suggest arriving during daylight as it can be a little difficult to find in the dark as I found out the hard way. Overall, I would recommend this accomodation if you are looking for a cheap getaway to the south of France and are prepared to rough it just a little. However if you are looking for even the slightest hint of Luxury then forget it.
“Be-aware.”
Restrictive checking in times, not manned at all times. So if you have any problems out of hours you are on your own.Do not go early season, swimming pool had broken glass surrounding it and also in the pool do not know when last cleaned, unsafe to swim in even though weather 20+ degrees beautiful weather. On a weekend because you are next to a park you will not be able to get in or out as the road to the hotel is blocked by 100`s of cars (Literally) Myself I would definately not stay here again.

Villeneuve-Loubet, France: Between Nice and Antibes, Villeneuve-Loubet is a typical Côte dAzur resort blessed with a Blue Flag beachfront stretching along four kilometres of smooth natural pebbles and imported sand. Eye-catching modern luxury apartments crowd the waterfront; inland, narrow alleys and steps lead up to a hilltop castle half-hidden behind high walls.
