“Nice, 2 star price at a 3+ star place”
We expecting a small room, were happily surprised as in European terms, this is a great sized room with a large bath. No fixed showerhead to the wall but not a problem, the hand held wand worked great and gave my wife and I an excuse to shower together. Most surprising of all was how quite the room was when compared with other old historic, high ceiling hotels we have resided in the past. Staff was very friendly. There was a manager happy hour and the manager who gave us a tour and history about the hotel. There is a stage which hosts community plays and acts on occasion. We did not eat at the restaurant as there are so many options in the area. Walking distance to the train 500m and water 1km.
“would definitely stay there again”
Really enjoyed our stay at Le Scribe - excellent value for money. Room was clean and spacious. Bathroom clean. Staff were very friendly. Would stay there again. View from hotel probably the only downer for us.
“Hospitable, Helpful and Happy”
Very well priced, spacious clean rooms, staff very helpful, public areas comfortable. Well placed for use of train without noise, some good restaurants nearby which are not part of the 'tourist trap' pedestrian areas. Fair walking distance to old town, Promenade des Anglais, bus station, but that suited us. Yes we would use this hotel and its chain organisation again.
“Soooo relaxing!”
We had a lovely time at Le Scribe. We booked last minute and had little idea what our accommodation would be like. However upon arrival we were impressed with the vast size and standard of our room. It wasn't overly luxurious, but clean, comfortable and all you could want really. The air con was a welcome addition as summer in the Med was pretty hot! The location was also spot on, close to the beach, old town and train station. The best part was the staff. Our basic GCSE French didn't get us too far but the staff were friendly and did their best to understand. On our last night we asked for a cocktail but the bar lady did not understand us and served us a fruit juice. However as we were in reception the next day she had realised her mistake and made us 2 cocktails for free at 2 in the afternoon! Absolutely wonderful stay, more than we could have ever asked for!
“Extra Mile!”
In every category of service we were extremely satisfied. They were able to provide us with a hair dryer and offered tourist information very willingly. Most significantly, however, was the fact that I inadvertently left my wallet in the hotel and they tracked me down in Canada and mailed my entire wallet with all the money and documents still in it! The employees really went the extra mile to ensure that my vacation wasn't ruined by the wallet mishap.

“Fit for purpose”
Fairly basic hotel. We booked our second holiday to Nice quite late and had very restricted choice as to which hotels were available. However, it has a good location. It took us about 5 minutes to walk to the train station and 10 minutes to the beach. You are more or less in the middle of everything in terms of shopping and it easy to walk to restaurants. The old part of Nice is also very accessable by foot - or if you are a little lazy, it is only 3 minutes walk to the nearest tram station so you can jump a tram to Massena Place for one euro. Staff are very friendly and compared to a lot of the bars and restaurants, the wine is very cheap (EUR 1.40 versus EUR 4-5 for a glass). We didn't try the hotel restaurant, but the menu looked ok and again very reasonably priced compared to many other places in Nice. As said, the rooms are fairly basic and certainly do not have the "wow" factor. There is a need for some redecorating, but we were out and about all the time so just a place to crash out at night. In terms of value for money it is ok.

Un hotel plein de charme avec un personnel attentionné. L'hotel est bien situé et à 100m à peine du parking du Louvre où on peut prendre des abonnements hebdomadaires.
“Comfortable 3* Hotel”
Although the bed was a little harder than I'd like, I found this hotel to be just what we needed for our break in Nice. The location was fairly convenient, hotel clean and comfortable for the money. Would stay there again happily.
“Classy hotel”
Very large room (by France standards), bathroom even bigger than my US bathroom, clean, quiet, free internet in lobby, friendly and helpful clerk. No complaints for this classy and elegant hotel.
