“one of the best locations in Nice”
Situated on the Promenade d'Anglais between the casino and the Negresco this is a large and stylish grand hotel. We had a sea facing room which was huge by french 3-star standards with a smallish balcony.Massive foyer, excellent terrace bar and resturant all manned by friendly, helpful and charmingly inefficient staff. The A la Carte menu and the drinks prices were amazingly the cheapest we found in Nice! Had the bathroom and furniture been updated this would easily be a 4-star hotel. The only slight oddity was a strange musty chocolate smell in the corridors which turned out to be due to some product used by the cleaning staff who kept everywhere immaculate. We enjoyed it so much we wanted to stay another 2 nights but sadly they were fully booked.
“We'd definitely consider staying there again.”
A comfortable charming old hotel in a good location.
“Perfect Location”
The hotel is a grand old building with surprisingly spacious rooms. Location is amazing - the best in Nice. The complimentary internet service is a nice little extra.
“Offered great sea view, close to old town, would go back again”
Hotel was much better than expected. Room was larger than expected. Hotel employees spoke both French and English. Close to shopping and easy access to attractions. Would stay here agin. Request sea view room, view is great.
“Seaview was AMAZING”
Get the seaview! We booked a seaview room and were upgraded to a larger room upon arrival (we were honeymooning). The balcony (in our case a terrace - it was huge) was spectacular with a perfect view of the Mediterranean right across the street. The hotel was clean, staff were helpful (Olivier at the front desk was especially helpful) and the location and view were unbeatable. Would not go back without the view.
“Fabulous Situation”
Although our overall opinion was very good. The breakfast room was a little dull. Those on full board had a much brighter room. However the situation of the hotel and many options to breakfast elsewhere including the beach negated the problem.
“good hotel”
We stayed 6nights and enjoyed this hotel for being friendy, helpfull, very nice and pleasant staff.a great location on the promenade with its own patio to sit on an evening.very good breakfast and not expensive.rooms very clean.the faults we had was the bath was very high up,you can hear the people walking about from the floor above which was very loud and hearing other guests in the next room.
“perfect place to stay in Nice”
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The room was huge by european standards, and the view gorgeous. The bathroom was spacious and had a tub, once again not all that common in Europe. You cannot be more conveniently located then right there on the sea. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. They had accidently set aside a double room instead of two twins for us and were quick to correct the problem, upgrading us to a sea view to accomodate us. We arrived after midnight and the front desk staff walked us through the back entrance and directed us from there to the closest open restaurant.
“Worth a return visit”
excellent hotel, friendly staff and great location made this hotel one of the best in Nice
“Great location”
Our second floor room had a small balcony which overlooked Lido Beach - great for just sitting and observing the passing scene. We were within walking distance of Old Town and many restaurants and stores, and the tour busses stopped within a few blocks of the hotel for excursions to places out of walking distance. The room was very quiet, the staff were helpful, and the breakfast was bountiful.
