“Fantastic Hotel for the price”
Located a mere 5 minute walk from the beach, the tram, buses, food, entertainment, shopping, and the bank. Small, cozy room for 3 with obviously updated and lovely bathroom, it was the perfect place to stay. The staff was INCREDIBLY helpful - Gregory in particular - who found us the correct buses, routes, directions to nearby cities, and more. We had a lovely time and would stay again.
“Great Budget Hotel!!!”
This is a great budget hotel; the location of it is supreme. The staff was so helpful; they all speak English really well. They even helped us book a train on a french discount site that we would have never understood since we don't speak French which saved us a lot of money as the English sites charge a lot more. Room was clean and spacious compared to the other budget hotels we stayed at on our trip. The bathroom set up was a little awkward but manageable. The toliet was in a completely separate area from the shower/bath and vanity. The shower wasn't the easiest to use but doable. They have a lift, so that is good. We had a nice big window which opened and it was great to get some fresh air. I didn't partake in the breakfast because it looked very minimal, but just across the street was a great little shop that had inexpensive but fresh homemade pastries, good coffee and well priced bottled water. I would definitely stay here again.
“Much better than expected”
Very central situation. Large room with constant hot water and air conditioning that worked. A bit faded, but good value for money. Very helpful staff who spoke good english
“Nice and basic”
I went to Nice on a solo vacation and was glad to have chosen Hotel Helvetique. The desk staff were friendly and always willing to help. I was having trouble with a tour group, and they were nice enough to relay several messages from a tour group and help in sorting out the confusion. The accommodations were basic yet sufficient for budget travelers. The walls were thin, so I did hear some noise from other guests. The only thing I wish the hotel did was not require a cash deposit for the in-room safe. I had wanted to use it but kept forgetting to go out and get the cash to pay the deposit. It would have been nice to just be able to use the safe at the get-go. Overall, I was pleased with the value. The location was central, and it was very easy to walk to the beach or to Old Nice. It was also very simple to get to and from the Nice train station.
“Great Location For a Short Stay”
The staff were very friendly. The location was great for a short stay. Close to the old town, close to the beach and the main street with restaurants and shops was around the corner.
“Darren and Hari in Nice”
Great staff, oldish hotel modernised in some areas although rooms look old but bathroom and toilet modernised. Our superior room had a bath but toilet was seperate, a bit strange! We had breakfast first morning but we found it quite expensive for what we got which was tea/coffee, orange juice, yoghurt, bread rolls, croissants and some toast. Great location, 5-10mins from old town, trams, buses, restaurants.
“Great location, hotel room interiors so-so”
Location of the hotel is the biggest sell - it's walking distance to everything of interest to someone visiting Nice. The people at the reception are very nice, and there is great free internet in the rooms. However, my room was a bit of a disappointment. Room size was small (I expected that), but the washroom was the main sticking point. The shower was just enclosed by two walls and a curtain (it's not a proper shower unit), it's quite small (about 3/4 of a meter squared), there was very visible signs of rust on the radiator by the sink, and the washroom had this perpetual musty smell. This may just be because I'm rather picky with washrooms. Overall, good hotel for a budget stay if you want to be near everything in Nice. Hopefully the other rooms are better!
“Hôtel idéalement situé”
Un hôtel très bien situé, idéal pour faire du shopping. Le personnel est très accueillant. Je recommande vivement cet hôtel pour tous ceux qui souhaitent passer quelques temps à Nice.

“Hotel, très bon rapport qualité/prix!”
Petit hotel très bien placé, proche de tout: commerces, zone pietonne, marché, bons restos et pubs, et petites boutique sympas, ... Personnel charmant et très serviable!! Petit déjeuner copieux! Literie de qualité. Seul bémol: la salle de bain un peu "vieillotte" ! Nous y reviendrons sûrement!
