“best hotel for the weekend”
clean, comfee. helpful, polite, clean! will stay again! love the indoor pool and gym and whilpool...!!! i stayed at three hotels in niagara fall this was far the best for the price. thanks imp.
“Avoid this hotel if you can”
This is a really run down hole in the wall. It looked better when we booked it, but looks can be deceiving. We traveled a lot lately, and in many similar hotels we had a buffet breakfast included. Not here! Here they gave us two vouchers for breakfast. The problem was, we were traveling with our little daughter, and they didn't let us have three vouchers. For her we had to pay extra, they told us. We just felt nickle and dimed, not welcomed at all, so we decided to skip the hotel breakfast completely, and to leave our money where we choose to have breakfast. The room was run down, not well cleaned, the tub was broken and glued. The water from tub didn't drain well, so you could end your shower in the ankle deep soapy water. The towels were thin, threadbare and sandpaper scratchy. The bedding was not much better - blankets looked old and pilling. It made me wonder who used them before us, and how (if at all) were they cleaned. In the room there were two small water bottles, with a warning that if we open them our credit card will be charged four dollars for each bottle! Unbelievable markup for such a dingy hotel! If it was a five star hotel, I would understand the four dollar waters, but in this place, it just felt that they were doing everything to rip us off. Speaking of that - the hotel charged ten dollars extra per day for parking! It had it's own lot behind the hotel, and it wasn't even full. If we knew all that, we might have stayed on the US side of Niagara.
“Good budget hotel”
We have stayed at Imeprial 6 times in last 3 years. My kids love the pool. Rooms are decent keeping the low cost in mind. Should not expect a 4 star hotel services or room cleanliness. The rating is based on comparison with area hotels.
“Ok at the right price”
The Hotel was sufficient for our needs at $140 for two nights (which also included breakfast) over the Black Friday sales. The decor was tired and was in need of updating but the room was comfortable. The location was excellent to get to Clifton Hill and the amusements and downtown Niagra. If you stay the staff are friendly, polite and very helpfull. Dont spend more than $70 a night or you will be disapointed. Good value at the right price.
“Very close to Clifton Hill but not well taken care of”
CON - Some things were not well taken care of - i.e. peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, two bedsheets as per normal however neither was a fitted sheet therefore it didn't want to stay on the mattress. PRO - Very convenient location just a block west of the top of Clifton Hill.
“comfortable and great location!”
This hotel was in a great location and it was nice to have golden griddle connected to the hotel, but we did not like the fact that the housekeeper just walked in cosidering we left no notice of her service, this made us feel uncomfortable. But the hotel staff were very nice when service was needed.
“Imperial Hotel - Not Improvement”
The lighting in the lamps needs to be checked after each guest has left since we found two lamps to have burnt out bulbs. The toilet in room 208 runs continuously which disturb our sleep to the point where we had to close the door. We found old used toilet paper under the bed which had not been removed when the room was cleaned after the previous guest. The bed was extremely hard which made it difficult to sleep comfortably.
“really needed new blankets and mattress”
nice klarge rooms, could use new blankets
“Very impressed!!”
Stayed at the Imperial Oct. 28-30th. Was VERY satisfied with the location (right next to Clifton Hill) as well as the room. Was perfect for the price I paid. Hotel staff were very friendly. There was a problem with the water on Sunday so the hotel gave us free parking during our stay, which was a nice extra bonus. I would not recommend buying the breakfast vouchers though. When you go to Golden Griddle with your coupon it is an extra for the buffet; however, if you come in off the street the buffet is around the same price as your ticket . For being Halloween weekend it was not too loud either. The internet connection is not the greatest though. My boyfriend likes to stream netflix when he goes to bed for something to watch and it had trouble loading. I would DEFINITELY stay here again!
“Not Impressed”
We woke up on Sunday unable to shower as a result of a bursted pipe and when the water was coming out of the tap it was rusted, the girl at the front desk did not accomadate us and she did not speak to us in a professional manner. Will never go back to this hotel again. I have a photo to show the color of the water coming out of the tap and even if the water clears up, I would not shower nor brush my teeth with the water.
