“It was a beautiful stay”
Even though we stayed for only one night, it was a great stay. We met Angelo at the reception desk. He was extremely friendly and helpful. He was one of the main reasons we got a positive impression of the hotel. He also allowed us to keep our luggage at the hotel until we got back at the end of the day.
“Good value, would go back”
After seeing some earlier reviews, I was a little apprehensive, but the stay was better than anticipated. I have no complaints and the price was commensurate with the value of the lodging provided. I would stay there again and for a longer time.
“Fantastic Value for the Money”
This hotel is wonderful, provided you have appropriate expectations. The hotel is a bit older, and the decor is out of date. However, it is exceptionally clean and ideally situated within walking distance of, but sufficiently away from the bustle of the strip to allow for a decent night's rest. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and you could hardly ask for a more reasonable rate. A few practical considerations should be taken into account. First, there is no elevator. If you require handicap access or have difficulty with stairs, this hotel may not be the best choice for you. As with most other motel-type establishments, there is no restaurant or bar in the building. Food, drink, and convenience stores are all within walking distance, though, and this should not deter you from getting a great value on a decent hotel!
“Good Value in a Good Location”
This hotel is a good choice for either singles, a couple, and even families. It is really close walking distance to both the fallsview side and the clifton hill activity. The service was fast and the staff were really nice & friendly. This hotle actually has keys instead of those swipe cards that always get deactivated. We noticed a musty smell when we first entered our room and strangely there was a crib inside! The rooms are very out dated and the beds weren't like the hilton, but it was just fine. I think the bathrooms could use a remodeling, but otherwise the bathroom was very clean. The shower had a good pressure and the water heated quickly. The soap provided was very drying to my skin, so I would bring my own from home next time. The beds were clean with nice fresh white sheets - no stains and no bugs. The parking is free and the internet at the Ramada across the street is available at no cost(no password)!!! I really liked our room on the second floor by the back door. There is no elevator, but we didn't mind taking the stairs! Overall, we had a great time and would recommend this hotel to anyone else who is looking to getaway on a budget. The staff is nice, the rooms are clean and the location is unbeatable!
“Exactly what I expected”
For the price of this hotel you cannot get any better. I did not nor expect the spas, gyms, etc. of the pricier hotels. I wanted something clean, close and cheap and that is exactly what I got. The pool was small but it was the cleanest pool I have seen in my travel of 30 years!! The $100 I saved every day, was my money for the casinos. YeHaw!!!!

“Good enough”
My husband and I stayed here after looking at other reviews. We were on a tight budget and wanted to get something clean, walking distance to most of the attractions, and with basic accomodations. This place met all of those requirements. It is not a "nice" looking hotel and the furnitiure was run-down (the backs of the chairs were broken). However, the room was super clean and the front desk clerks were always supper friendly & helpful. The owners even brought in a microwave at no extra cost given that the room we paid for didn't come with it and offered complimentary tickets for wine tasting. There is internet access at the front desk, which my husband got to use and had no problems with, however it wasn't always running,
“We would stay in this hotel again”
Simple hotel and a bit outdated. Located a few blocks from the Skylon Tower. Don't expect luxury here but overall it was good enough for my family, including my 4 years old daughter. The owners were very helpful with information regarding attractions in the area.
“Weekend Getaway”
The service at the Diplomat is very friendly. They were very accomodating, letting us use their pool outside the regular posted hours and offering us free late checkout if we wanted it. It's by no means a very modern hotel, but everything was clean, the AC worked, and overall we slept comfortably.
