One night stay
This is a hidden gem. Right by the loch with stunning views over the mountains across the water a!d adjacent to the property. The proprietors are super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was very tasty and the beds very comfortable - didn't want to get up!😀. Take some midge repellent if you wish to sit by the loch in the evening 😉. All in all a brilliant b&b and would stay again.

Great stay, fantastic host
Just back from a over night stay in rostrevor and we stayed in tbe oystercatcher guest house. I cannot recommend this high enough. The host was one off the friendliest and warmest person i have meet. We were meet at the door, shown to our room, breakfast order taken and all explained, no hassle at all Room was spotless, comfortable and bed lovely to sleep in. We had breakfast next morning which was freshly cooked as we sat at the table. Our host chatted away with us as if we were part of the family, this made us feel very welcome. We will definately be back for more visits

Quaint and pretty
We had a fantastic stay at The oystercatcher in Rostrevor. Everything was central and so picturesque. The hosts Pasquelina and her husband were so attentive and friendly. They have so much local knowledge to draw from . Great facilities as well. Loved our stay.

Fantastic location with very helpful host at check in. Host does not live on site however and there is no breakfast with the accommodation. Room on top floor is cramped by very low ceilings and doorways, but outdoor patio off second floor has wonderful views.

One night stay
Stayed here for one night, it is situated in a convenient area close to a few eateries and close to some good walks, wifi was advertised but non existent in the back room we stayed in and there was a mix up with breakfast, the price of breakfast was refunded and the owner assured me that the wifi would be fixed. The owners have not had the property long so hopefully given a bit of time they will iron out the bugs, we would stay here again

Somewhat lacking in love of this accomadation.
Room and establishment lacked love and care to make it feel comfy and inviting, no nice touches, lots of bits needed tidying up, -gaps roughly/untidy filled in bathroom, poor shower, barely hot enough, tap on basin broken, towels tatty, hot fancy radiator next to wash basin-easy to burn self, old bath mat.bed very low(Ikea malm) lumpy mattress, tatty bedside cupboards, mismatched wardrobe,tv remote not working, curtain rail falling out of wall, fresh milk in room on ice mat, curdled! Wifi very poor. And only a door to house kitchen or something, so very easily disturbed by people in it at night and early morning.

Will be spectacular in summer
James the proprietor is an excellent host and Bernie can cook up a storm of a breakfast. The room was unclusterd yet had every thing. The bathroom was well equipped and will put many hotels to shame. The property has a view to die for. Will definitely return.

Fabulous location!
We really enjoyed our stay at The Oystercatcher which was quirky and different. In a great location across the road from the Loch, our first floor twin room had a fabulous view looking out across the water towards the mountains near Carlingford. Very laid back atmosphere, so probably most suited to walkers/cyclists/artists/musicians/young outdoor types; if you are looking for a corporate hotel with marble and tiles everywhere, this is probably not for you, but if you want somewhere unique, different, comfortable and with superb breakfasts, then go for it!

Fantastic Host
Lovely location with fantastic views of Newry River and southern Ireland. Not to mention the edge of the Mourne mountains. B&B facilities as expected with a very filling breakfast. Wished we had booked more nights here. Will definitely visit again if back in Ireland. Owner quite a character.

great service, hosts couldn't be more helpful,
a lovely B&B in a beautiful village beside the Loch, backed by the Mourne Mouintains. Host was a real character and produced a breakfast for champions and was generous and helpful at all times. Wonderful service, clean & comfortable room, made me feel very welcome even as a single traveller. Hope to stay here again when i come back on business. The Irish builders have some creative solutions to loft conversions and the room quality has been mentioned by some reviewers, but it really isn't a problem IMO.

Wonderful view
The Oystercatcher is a lovely little hotel with beautiful views of the surrounding natural environment. The host was very friendly and informal, which made us at ease. Being in the front room this was important because we had access to the whole house. Breakfast was superb and rounded off a very nice stay in a very picturesque location. Rostrevor is a small village but we found the pubs and restaurant to be very friendly and to a decent standard.

The place to be before getting to The Mournes
We only stayed one night to the Oystercatcher but we really enjoyed it. The view from the house is amazing (you can see both the "lake" and the mountains). Rostrevor is very small, but if you are looking for a nice place to eat, you can go to The Kilbroney Pub, which is only 5 minutes walk from the B&B and offers music sessions some nights (really nice food there). We had a room on the first floor with privative bathroom and privative entrance. Very comfortable, with everything you need (TV, tea, coffee, milk,...). The breakfast was really good and complete! Wonderful Ulster Fry, perfect to begin a big day! We thank very much,James, the host, for is warm welcome and his advice on what to do&see in the Mournes! We had a wonderful last day in Northern Ireland following his advice!I definitely recommend a stay to the Oystercatcher! Perfect for young couples

"Help yourself to milk"
James made us very welcome on arrival. We had been allocated the room next to the kitchen which provided easy and direct access to outside, and he also invited us to "help ourselves to milk from the fridge" The shower room was lovely with a very powerful and efficient shower - no running around to catch the drips here!! and the room was spacious. Breakfast was large and set us up for the day and James was able to provide a wealth of local and historical knowledge of the area.

beautiful seaside location
Beautiful modern house across the street from the water and at the foot of the Mourne mountains. Charming folk-singer host, lovely breakfast. Only problem was that it appeared to be a Newry address on the website but in fact was about 10 miles away in Rostrevor. I would certainly stay here again.
