Nice Stay

Posted 3-Nov-2014
Nice hotel, room a tad on the small size, and bed was not a queen, more a standard 4'6". Staff very nice, excellent decor, clean and restful. Small in size compared to larger conglomerate hotels, so very quiet, and homely, and a pleasure to return to. A home from home in NYC. Whilst down at the lower end of Manhattan, just off Wall Street, getting around was never an issue, once you found your way around. What was nice was getting away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of NYC and the constant noise and car horns blaring away. Excellent restaurants nearby. Coffee and cakes/biscuits on tap 24/7 was a nice touch. Would we go back again, yes definitely.

Hidden gem - Heart of financial district

Posted 27-Oct-2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness, not a boring/stale franchise hotel with no character, nearby pubs/restaurants, parking & easily-accessible transportation
Cons: Larger spread for the continental breakfast
Location: Everything and more that you need to enjoy a stay in downtown Manhattan is within 1-2 blocks (eating, drinking, shopping, sightseeing/touristy stuff)
Only stayed 1 night, but would go back in a heartbeat. Every corner of the entire room was spotless and orderly. The mattress was firm (perfect for me). The location is excellent, with numerous (really nice) pubs/restaurants, fast food, public transportation, and even a convenience store within easy walking distance. The staff was extremely friendly. The continental breakfast was very limited (only some danishes, bagels, cereals, coffee, juice, water, and tea.), but there are several nice places to eat nearby. Short walk to the heart of everything that is the "Financial District" (Wall Street). I got lucky and found free street parking in front of the hotel, but the public paid lot was literally right across the narrow street (not sure of price or if they validate).

Pros: Free coffee, croissants and danish in the morning.
Good value in the financial district. Several restaurants, bars and coffee shops in the area. Room had a minibar to keep snacks.

Great financial district location

Posted 25-Sep-2014
Pros: Convenient location, walking distance to restaurants, meetings, and tourist attractions. Quiet room even though on 6th floor.
Cons: Would be nice to have a doorman but honestly didn't miss one.
Location: Walking distance to Battery Park, the NYSE, restaurants and pubs - there's an open air shared restaurant space on the next block during fair weather.
I wasn't expecting such a pleasant experience but was delighted with the convenient location, old school charm, and extremely clean and orderly room. The staff were all nice without being overly solicitous and I was very satisfied with the reasonable rate.

Quaint hotel in historic area.

Being close to Wall St made it very quiet at night and weekends. Also very close to Battery Park and 9/11 Museumm.

A touch of luxury in lower Manhattan

Posted 15-Sep-2014
This hotel serves business customers through the week and tourists at the weekend. Convenient for lower Manhattan sites, walking distance to a Statute of Liberty, Ellis Island and Ground Zero Memorial, mid and uptown easily accessible by subway. Quieter than the more popular tourist areas at weekend it provides good accommodation, with touch of luxury, after a busy day sightseeing. Great selection of eateries just around the corner in lovely cobbled street, with outdoor tables in good weather. Only comment is that like most business hotels there is no in room coffee making facility, have to get dressed to fetch from the pleasant continental breakfast area, not a major problem. Reccomended for anyone wanting quieter New York location but still convenient. Staff were helpful, friendly and made even a single traveler welcome.
