Wall Street Inn

Posted 28-Aug-2014
Pros: comfortable room, friendly staff, offer taxi to airport, free copy of new York times, good breakfast from 7am - 10am,
Cons: Not sure about the ventilation vent in the room, was rather loud
Location: near 9/11 memorial, Brooklyn bridge, statue of liberty (battery park), close to wall street station on metro, about 15 minutes by subway to main city
Nice friendly staff, comfortable room, free wifi a bonus as you don't have to spend money using your own data usage, enjoyed the breakfast they offered, good location near 9/11 memorial and south seaport (near Brooklyn bridge), 5 minute walk to statue of liberty, and quite close to wall street station on metro. Rooms were serviced every day, and kept clean, I came to new York 1 day late, and they held my room, also really valued a late check in time as I got to airport late. tv had adequate channels though didn't watch much. cheaper to book taxi to airport via hotel (though it is cash only). map they gave was so handy in case you get lost!!

In financial district

Posted 6-Aug-2014
Pros: Good facilities, close to bars and restaurants
Cons: Tea and coffee facilities in the room, more breakfast options.
Close to ferries for Ellis Island, Liberty Island and Staten Island, also near World Trade Centre site but a fair distance from Times Square, Central Park and other tourists attractions. A busy street with restaurants and bars at the back of the hotel which was noisy at the weekend into the night.

Nice boutique hotel

Posted 1-Aug-2014
Pros: Cleanliness, room size, price, location
Cons: Continental breakfast options
I enjoyed the small intimate feel of the hotel. The amenities were very satisfactory, although the breakfast was weak. it was of little consequence as there are a number of food options surrounding the hotel.

Very happy.

Clean, large room, very quiet. Quaint with all mod cons. Fabulous bathroom and very comfy bed with luxury feel to covers. Nice variety for breakfast, plenty to eat.

Good value but could do with an update

Posted 25-Jul-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms need an update
Location: Staten Island Ferry Liberty and Ellis island ferry Wall Street and Financial District
We stayed here for 3 nights, Friday to Monday, in July. Wall Street is quiet during those day so we didn't get disturbed too much by the bars round the corner, apart from on Friday night. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from the Staten Island ferry The room was small, with a big bed taking up most of the room and a tiny bathroom. It was tired, with grouting in the bathroom starting to look worse for wear and the window blinds (of which there were about a million, ok 8, to open and close each day) were frayed. The bed was comfortable though and it was nice to have a corner room. Continental breakfast was complimentary which is a novelty in the US, and well received.

Rude and inflexible staff

Posted 23-Jul-2014
I had a very bad and costly experience with this hotel. Got charged a hefty no show fee. Called hotel to explain my situation, reservation was a result of system error by Expedia but nevertheless hotel general manager was very eager to charge full amount of 1st night fee which, by the way it was the most expensive night of the three nights stay. There are many hotels in the area much better than this one and you will not risk to get tricked to pay a no show fee.

Business Trip

Posted 11-Jul-2014
Pros: Proximity to office. Food choices were very adequate.
Cons: Coffee, carpet needs replacement in rooms - smelly, musty hard to sleep. Hallway smelled fresh, but room was awful. Staff attentiveness.....
Location: Not sure other than good food and drink - was business trip.
The reception was poor - staff was unwelcoming. Questions seemed to annoy staff. No eye contact. Rude and lackluster. Room smell was awful - hallway was pleasant and opening room door was a shock. Assumed the décor and appearance of carpet gave it away and I did not want to dal with staff. I complained on my departure and another guest confirmed that several rooms have that smell, sadly he did state that there are a few on the 4th floor that don't have that awful smell.

Great location

Posted 27-Jun-2014
Pros: Room and location
Cons: Nothing
Location: Plenty of restaurants and walking distance to seaport. Plenty of transportation options.
Came from Philadelphia on a Wednesday and didn't hit any traffic. That's a plus. No trouble checking in. Room was nice and clean. Staff was friendly. Was staying past my check out time and the hotel very kindly kept my luggage till I was ready to leave NY. Great location. Behind hotel are all different kinds of restaurants and outdoor dining which made experience even nicer.

Great hotel, great location, great price!

Posted 21-Jun-2014
Pros: The room was large for NYC, elevator was fast, everything was very clean, and the bathroom was large and modern. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: The only improvement we would recommend would be a little more variety in the Continental Breakfast (protein).
Location: There were plenty of restaurants and pubs, and a subway station was a block or two away. Very convenient location.
My husband and I vacation in NYC every year and have usually stayed in midtown. We thought the location was perfect. Our son and daughter-in-law moved to Brooklyn from Portland, Oregon 3 years ago and we found our location was pretty far from them. We decided to try the Financial District and we were thrilled with the decision. The Wall Street Inn was still in Manhattan, closer to our family, but what surprised us was what a great location the Financial District is. We would definitely recommend The Wall Street Inn and we will absolutely stay there again. Try it, you'll be glad you did!
