Although we generally enjoyed our stay, in the luxurious surroundings of the Plaza, there are a few minor negative comments. On arrival, we received a warm welcome, and as the trip was to celebrate my wife's 50th, they had left a cake in the room, which was lovely_top marks for that! The room was excellent, and bed very comfortable. The bathroom was huge, and choice of powerful shower, or hot bath. however, by day three, the toilet stopped working, but once reported, fixed whilst we were out. However, on our last night, the same problem occurred. When we reported this during check out, the response was a curt hmmff! Sorry, but would expect more from such a prestigious establishment. On the whole, staff were generally polite. Another minor issue, was that on day two, we were desperate to phone home, and could not get through to UK. This despite several calls to concierge. Eventually sent Butler service, who was also unable to resolve. However, after much ado, which involved the Butler Service Manager, it transpired that our room had not been linked to allow calls (felt this took too long for them to realise. Having said this, the Butler Manager was excellent, and warned us the cost of even a short call would be very costly (extortionate in fact!). He went on to order us a phone card, on his own internet address, and wavered cost of the initial call _ excellent service.
