“Can't wait to go back”
On our recent stay at the Palace, we were pleasantly surprised. We thought since we had booked through Expedia and had gotten such great rates, that we would be staying between the elevator and the ice machine. Not so! Our room was spacious, clean, and elegant. Check in and out were extremely easy, and the staff was great. The location to the sights of NYC was wonderful. I was impressed that the doorman addressed me by my name upon arrival and also several days later. It is nice to be a name and not a number in a large city.
“Wonderful - dream hotel”
The New York Palace is the best hotel we have ever stayed in! We stayed for our 1st Anniversary and it was lovely. The staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do more to make sure our stay was 10 out of 10. We even arrived at the hotel to be told they had upgraded us - the room was beauitful with a stunning view, my husband and I couldn't believe how wonderful the hotel was, much more than we had imaged. Location is excellent for Empire State, Rockafeller, Times Square, Central Park, Bloomingdales etc - we will be returning, perfect place to stay without doubt.
“can't beat the location”
the hotel is right behind St. Patrick's Cathedral. You can walk to Rockefeller Center, Times Square. Skip the hotel breakfast and the expensive internet- Starbucks is right across the street...
“Very Impressed”
We had a great stay and would definitely go back. The hotel is in a great location and staff and services were awesome.
“Great stop...will stay again!”
My wife and I throughly enjoyed our stay at the New York Palace. We plan to stay again!
“Wonderful experience!”
The New York Palace is a beautiful hotel with a great location. With one exception, the staff couldn't do enough for you. Even though there was construction on the usual access road, and it was sometimes blocked, the staff easily facilitated getting a taxi. My only quibble was with the fancy restaurant, which is part of the hotel, but doesn't act like it. After my mother and I came in one night after a great show, we wanted to enjoy a drink and savour the evening. However, the only bar was Gilt, and we were turned away by a rather snooty hostess, even though they were not totally full. When I complained to one of the hall staff that it seemed odd we couldn't get a drink at the hotel we were staying at, he found us a table. Now, we didn't even really want to go to Giltl; if the bar/lounge area in the lobby had been open, that would have been fine. But that was the choice - Gilt or the minibar. My mother didn't want to go out to find a bar on Madison Ave after 11:00 pm. But everything else at the Palace was wonderful.
“Very Nice Hotel!”
Very nice hotel. Has a lot of charm. Excellent service. Friendly staff. AC works great. Very clean. I did find the bar prices high but the service was excellent as well. Bathroom fixtures need to be replaced but it is very pretty and clean.
“Grand Time”
The hotel room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. It would have been nice to have coffee/tea in the room. The location was perfect -- walking distance to broadway district and to Central Park.
“A gem despite the noise!”
The hotel was perfect and the staff did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. The only negative was the occasional noise due to the drilling for the subway expansion.
“We throughly enjoyed ourselves!!”
We had a great experience, the staff was tentive, professional and friendly.
