“Definitely visiting again next year”
The Moderne was the loveliest, friendliest hotel I have stayed in for many years. It was like staying with relatives. Comforttable, clean, very convenient for sights but quiet enough to sleep. Well decorated with funky furniture and Teddy and Victoria on reception were knowledgeable, keen to help, polite and fun. Beds were particularly comfortable with great linen, and thick towels. Hotel is without doubt very worthy to recommend to anyone wanting to stay in NYC.
“pleasant surprise”
I was very happy with overall experience. I found great little restaurants nearby to eat as I was traveling by myself. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I did not travel with my computer but was able to use the computer at a sister hotel on the next block
“Absolutely fabulous”
Brilliant hotel stay! The room was a good size, with a fabulous design interior, clean & comfortable. It was stylish. The staff were exceptionally friendless, helpful & went the extra mile on offering advice on our needs of where to visit off the beaten tourist track. They had a complimentary wine & cheese every evening in an open lounge which gave visitors a chance to meet, as well as complimentary cake every morning & constant coffee. A must when staying in NYC! Fab location for subway & times square & central park too!

Ré-ouverture après rénovation en février 2011. Situation des plus excellentes. Une très grande quantité de lieux touristiques, salles de spectacles et de bons restaurants sont à distance de marche. Métro tout proche. Notre chambre (701) était meublé avec goût et fonctionnelle sauf pour une petite salle de bain. Présence d'un frigo. Wi Fi gratuit avec un bon débit. Une table de travail aurait été appréciée. Pas de service de restauration.

“Great hospitality and service”
As in the name, the hotel interior and the rooms are designed to be vivid. It may be loud if you stay in a room which doesn't have a window, but the hotel service was great and the stay was comfortable. One of the best things about the hotel may be the lounge. Coffee, tea and wine are provided with some foods. People staying the hotel interact in the lounge and the atmosphere was close to the one in the hostels.
“Perfect location, great renovations.”
We stayed at The Moderne for 5 nights in August, during Hurricane Irene. The staff are extremly helpful, and they were exceptionally well prepared for the hurricane with flashlights for all rooms and breakfasts. We were lucky to be put in a renovated room. Although tiny, the rooms had all necessary amenities. The bathroom was very nice with a rain shower head. The location is perfect, just 5 blocks to Times Square, 3 blocks to 5th Ave and surrounded by great restaurants. The only cons to this hotel would be the rather hard mattresses, cucumber water in the lounge, and rooms that offer no daylight (although this I expect is common in NY). We will defintely stay here again, and recommend to any of our friends.
“Great Location!”
The location of this hotel is convenient and the staff is very friendly. They held our bags before and after check in. Beds are extremely comfortable and shower is nice. Thought they could have done a little better stocking the bathroom with towels, toilet paper, kleenex, after they cleaned the room, but really that was it. I would recommend this hotel.
“Great hotel”
Lovely hotel with great location. Staff friendly and rooms really clean. The only bad thing was the air conditioning was a little noisy but I would defiantly stay at the Moderne again.
“The Moderne Weekend”
Wonderful visit. The location is close to everything,Central Park,Times Square,but also in a quiet nice neighborhood. Staff is friendly and professional. Rooms are beautiful. Huge parking discount with the secure garage next door.
