“Boutique Hotel - The Jewel in NYC”
Stayed 2 nights - front desk staff were very helpful. We stepped out the front door in the morning with our complimentary coffee in hand and headed across the street to NBC's Today Show and other sights. We attended a Lady Antebellum Concert at Radio City Music Hall (also across the street) and "Wicked" 2 blocks away. Great 3 day getaway! The hotel room was the cleanest we have ever been in.
“Great place to stay!”
Great location in the middle of the action, but not too close for it to be loud.
“Couple from Surrey, England”
Compact, clean and friendly. This was an ideal hotel for a couple on holiday staying 4 nights.
“Loved this Hotel!”
When we arrived at The Jewel the lobby was small but very clean & modern looking. The front desk was more like a kiosk & the employees were friendly & helpful. We arrived sooner than the Hotel Check in time but were checked in immediately. Very fast check in process. Our room was nice & very modern, & CLEAN! We booked the smallest room, which was enough for 2 people. A queen sized bed, a desk, a closet, 2 bed side tables & a bathroom. The room had an alarm clock which was also an iPod docking station & a flat screen TV. It also had free internet access. The bathroom had a stand up shower, a toilet & a sink & was equipped with shampoo, mouthwash, etc. & a blow dryer. The room also had a mini fridge & a microwave which really came in handy. The beds were very comfortable. The cleaning service was very friendly & came every single morning to clean our room & offer fresh towels. Another neat feature at this hotel included a water station on every floor. It was a chilled/purified water station set up where you would grab a new, unopened bottle & were able to fill it up each day with fresh water. Very handy for those long days sightseeing. The location of the hotel was perfect as well. Right out front was Rockefeller Centre & one block west was access to the Subway. Time Square & Central Park were both in walking distance along with many other sights to see. All in all I really enjoyed my stay at The Jewel & would definitely return /recommend it to anyone visiting New York City.
“Top Marks...”
Fantastic location - dead centre of Manhatten next to Rockefeller Plaza, modern, clean and quiet. Great value compared to others this well located. No restaurant but who needs one with thousands within walking distance. Can't recommend it enough.
“Great Stay In NYC”
Just got back from NYC and our stay at The Jewel and I can say it was a great stay. The property is steps away from Rockerfeller Centre, Radio City and more attractions. It is within easy wakling distance of Tiffany's, FAO Swartz, Apple and many many more retail outlets on 5th and Madison. If you want to take a bus tour it is easy to book at Rockerfeller Square and this is one of the main stops (I recommend the Grey Line all loops tour at about $54 per person). Heres another free tip, for a great FREE view of the Statue of Liberty take the Staton Island Ferry back and forth for free. The Ferry can be found in Battery Park. The property itself is compact, I would say that is a fair way to say it, and has all your needs within easy steps. What you can not find in your room can be found on your floor in the guest closet that has irons and ironing boards, extra pillows, more coffee and condiments. We especially liked the fill your own water bottle station on each floor (bottes supplied). The rooms are cleaned daily and they do a great job of it and making sure all the little things are taken care of for you. This is not an all service property so do not expect the Ritz. One last tip. There is a small cafe about 3 doors up on the left as you exit the property. They do great breakfast, coffee and sandwiches and after 1 trip there the cashier rememebered our coffee orders everytime
“The Jewel”
The rooms are small, but what do you expect for New York. The staff was friendly, rooms clean, area was quiet, and it was in an excellent location. I would stay here again on another trip to New York, I really enjoyed this hotel.
“Amazing hotel - Amazing location”
The hotel was fabulous from check-in to check-out, both of which were quick, easy and self-service. Upon arrival, my bf and I dicovered that we had one of the terrace rooms which was a definite plus. Everything in the hotel worked perfectly: the AC was nice and cool, which was important since we went early July, the room always smelled clean, no tobacco odors that we had read about at other hotels, and staff were all exceedingly friendly! One of our favorite features was the purified chilled water found on every floor. Just fill up a couple of bottles, throw them in your backpack and go explore NY without having to spend any excess money for water. Aside from the hotel, we could not envision a more perfect location in NY. Rockefeller center is beautiful, clean, buzzing with activity and happy tourists, and very safe. The hotel was within walking distance of almost any attraction in NY, and if not, then the nearby subways could certainly get you anywhere. Needless to say, we had an amazing time in NY and an amazing time at the Jewel. We will definitely be staying there again! Strongly recommend!!
“Cute Hotel in Great Location”
The Jewel is a great new hotel right near Rockefeller Center. The location is great, lots of stuff right near by, plus close to a couple subway stops. Given that this is NYC the room didn't feel nearly as tiny as I was expecting. Not a whole lot of room around the bed to walk around, but it did have a little sitting area which was nice. Bed was very comfortable. The overall look of the place was really stylish. We really liked the filtered water and bottles stations on each floor, very nice touch. The fitness center is definitely on the small side, but other than that everything met or exceeded our expectations.
“Perfect location, stylish boudoir”
The hotel really was perfectly located just off 5th ave at the Rockefeller centre. We stayed 5 nights in the smallest room but never felt cramped as the room is well designed and comfortable. Staff were v friendly and helpful. If I return to stay in NYC this would be my first choice for accommodation.
