“Stop being so picky!”
I was terrified after reading some of the reviews on here. We were in a great room with 2 full size beds (per my request). When we got there, they offered to upgrade us to a junior suit, but we were expecting a few more people in the room and so we stayed with the smaller room with 2 beds. The location wasn't as great as I'd hoped for, as I wasn't there for shopping. However, if you are in NYC to shop, Hotel 57 is your location! It was a short walk to Times Square and Central park, which are always my 2 favorite places to stroll around in NYC. The staff was nice, although my only contact with them was to check in and check out. The hallways to the rooms were not air-conditioned and there were no signs on the walls to tell you how to get to your room, so we did have to roam the warm hallways until we could find where we belonged. The bathroom was WONDERFUL! The towels were so nice and thick and clean. The beds were super comfortable and the bedding was by far the best of any hotel I've stayed in. The only downfall if you are a picky person (which I am not) was that the crown molding was skraggly, the paint was shipping and the carpet looked like it needed to still be tacked down. However, I would definitely stay there again.
“Great location”
Enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was very clean, and well-appointed. Had trouble with the air conditionng and staff fixed it promptly. Front desk staff were extremely helpful. Beds were very comfortable. The only complaint would be the room was pretty small but manageable. Subway station a block away that takes you to most attraction directly.
“Modern, smart, peaceful and convenient.”
My wife and I have often stayed in Midtown Manhattan, but this was the first time in Hotel 57. The location, 57 and Lexington, is very convenient for business and tourism. The bedroom and bathroom were both a good size for a New York hotel, and they were clean and smart. The hotel appears to have been recently refurbished to a high standard. The plumbing and air conditioning worked well, and a small problem with the plumbing was fixed immediately without fuss. The free cable internet socket in the room worked well. The staff were friendly and efficient, especially the bell boys. The lifts were fast and had some great black and white photos on the walls. The ambience in reception (one floor up from the street) was somewhat subdued. The restaurant and bar, on the other hand, had more of a 'buzz' than my wife and I wanted at the end of a busy day, so we chose to eat elsewhere. I imagine, though, that younger business people wanting to unwind would very much enjoy the scene. Overall, a very pleasing experience, and we shall be happy to stay at Hotel 57 again if the opportunity arises.
“would highly recommend”
I didn't know anything about this hotel other than what I read on Expedia. It turned out great. Location is great, cleanliness is great, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
“Excellent location, comfortable and clean”
Great spot, would recommend to others. Very courteous staff; clean and comfortable room.
“Loved it...great hotel, great location, great pick!”
After reviewing some negative reviews about Hotel 57, I was worried about how my stay would turn out. Turns out, my stay was fabulous! Upon check in, we got upgraded to a Junior Suite which was a nice treat. The room was spacious compared to other fancy, expensive rooms in NYC. Front desk staff was very helpful. The location is perfect and central for most NYC attractions. The construction on the entrance level is obviously there, but it didn't take anything away from my experience. I would stay here again and I would recommend it to others. Great hotel for a great price!
“Good Location!”
This hotel is in a good location if you are staying for a sight seeing / shopping trip. It had door staff all day long ready to let you in or help with luggage. The hotel has a bar and restaurant, although we didn't eat here it seemed very popular in the evening. We sat in the bar on our last day to sample some cocktails and pass the time whilst waiting for our car to the airport. A range of drinks offered, cocktails were about $12 each. We had a superior room which was a good size with a nice marble effect bathroom. Fitted wardrobes and coffee making facilities were in the room as well as hundreds of channels on the television. Room was seen by a mais everyday - tidying our sheets and stocking up on toiletries. We also had a free news paper (USA TODAY)left outside our room each morning. Staff always said good morning and were polite when asked questions. Stored our luggage at the hotel for the majority of our last day at no extra charge, and staff were happy to do so. A very enjoyable stay overall!
“A pleasant and wonderful stay in NYC”

“Perfect”
Clean, close to subway, friendly staff,
“Great room at Hotel 57”
Was in NYC on business in May 2006, first time to stay at Hotel 57. The room was excellent, recently re-modeled, very cool art deco theme, larger than normal bathroom for NYC. Also very quiet and comfortable, plasma TV. Only downside is that hotel services are not emphasized, while staff is helpful, you are pretty much on your own. That work for me, might not for others.
