“My new place to stay in NYC”
It is not 5 star but if you want a cheap clean place to stay this is it.
“Great place to sleep.”
we expected weirdness and we got it right down to the guy whizzing on my car in the parking lot. If you are visiting brooklyn this is th e cheapest and best hotel. expect adventure and ease of subway access! great breakfast across the street at Bill's on wyckhoff excellent food and prices!! if you are up late, the white castle was everything we hoped it would be...sliders!!! awesome.
“Ed Berdugo”
I am a frequent traveler to New York City and have stayed in the past in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen vicinity hotels for their proximity to Grand Central Terminal, 42nd Street and Broadway’s theaters. Then, this past week, I discovered Brooklyn and the Red Caret Motel. Please be mindful of the word “motel.” The Red Carpet Motel, as for example Motel 6, offers the travelers with the basic conveniences of location (to catch the subway), restaurants (to dine in or have it deliver), and the neighborhoods' gas station with its Mini Mart just next door. By the way, it does not take long for one to get familiar with the subway system running 24/7. The staff was great, attentive and helpful. They were great helping me with the free Wi Fi connection by providing me with a cable a needed for a better a stable connection. The morning’s free breakfast was tempting with assorted doughnuts, bagels with cream cheese, and an amazing coffee machine that prepares your coffee to your individual taste. The room was spacious with a comfortable queen size bed, a night stand, a desk with a chair, and the armoire with the big TV. The bathroom is equipped with the most modern water saving features like the spigot with its magic golden round controller that you must pull down to route the water to the shower head. I won’t tell you about the powerful flush down force of the toilet. TIP: Bring your own shampoo.
“great budgete hotel”
We loved this hotel, really cute breakfast of coffee and doughnuts, hotel was right by the subway (like 20 seconds away), go to halsley station and youre right there, really easy to get into manhattan Staff very friendly, no probs with neighbourhood, would definitely go there again (:
“definitely a deal!”
this is THE cheapest hotel i found anywhere in or around nyc. so, i honestly didn't expect very much. but it turned out to be perfectly fine! the breakfast was standard fare (donuts, bagels, juice, coffee) but extremely abundant; the DSL internet worked like a charm; and as everyone says, having the L subway RIGHT THERE is absolutely perfect. note: try and get a room on the top floor. we were on the highest floor (3) and even from there, you can vaguely hear the subway announcements from the station right below the hotel, so i imagine it would be louder on lower floors. but honestly, it was not that big of a deal.
“Will be back soon!”
I loved my stay at the Red Carpet Inn and recommend it highly to travelers who want to stay inexpensively in New York. While there are not many amenities, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly, and access into local services and NYC is fantastic! You will not need a car to get around as the subway is literally right outside the door of the hotel. I stayed for over a week with business in New York and could get anywhere I wanted in minutes. While the hotel is in an older and not very upscale area, as a woman traveling alone on this trip at no time did I feel unsafe. In the 8 days I was there, I was never disturbed by noise or commotion. There is large well-lit Laundromat a block away, a small convenience store across the street, fast food restaurants nearby, and one subway stop up from Halsey (where the hotel is) is Myrtle-Wyckoff which puts you right in the center of a busy area with restaurants, drugstores, and shops. The hotel is run by an Indian family (or families) and although the cleaning staff is not very fluent in English, the folks at the front desk spoke English well and were friendly and accommodating to questions or requests. They were invaluable in helping me find anything I needed or requested during my stay. The two issues I had were the small area for hanging clothing in the rooms, and their rather miserly towel-policy. Next time I will pack an extra towel and an over-the-door hook and extra hangers for the front of the bathroom door!
“Close to Manhattan”
This hotel has all you can expect for this range of price: clean and comfortable rooms, free parking, very close to the subway station such that Manhattan is just 30 minutes from your room.
“parfait pour le prix ;metro en face , ligne direct pour centre;restauration possible juste en face”
hotel tres propre chambres spacieuses petit dejeuner inclus ce qui est rare sur new york sauf qu'il n'y a pas de salle de restauant il faut se faire un plateau pour le prendre dans la chambre mais le rapport qualite prix est tres satisfaisant la ligne de metro est direct pour manahtan 15 min du centre
“Inexpensive but adequate”
This no-frills hotel provided a clean room with a clean bathroom with fresh towels daily for the night. It was close to subways to NYC. The area was safe enough with on grounds parking. I saw families and couples staying there. There are no eateries close by that I would consider, but I would stay there again.
“Shocked! at how clean it was.”
I was shocked to see how tidy it was, as it was my first time in NYC with my girlfriends, we had a blast coming there and getting around was easy. its just as simple as London. we used the subway during the days to go into town and shop and got cab at night time to go clubbing. the assistance from the hotel was helpful as they called taxi's for us, and told us how much a taxi to a certain destination should be. and the complimentary breakfast is basic but i wasnt even expecting them to provide anything.
