“Warm in snowstorm”
Very quiet yet convenient. Easy access to the subway, shops, Zabars. Polite and helpful reception. Room was a bit too warm (ground floor).
“a quaint hotel in the middle of n.y.city upper west side”
I was extremely pleased upon arrival at the hotel, it was very clean and the staff was very friendly. the hotels old charm appeal with original elevators to wood floors made me feel i was back in time. the room size was perfect for 2 and the bed was soooo comfortable!!!! I have stayed at other hotels in n.y.c. and I am glad I took a chance on Park 79 I will be a loyal guest from now on when I visit the big apple. I felt very safe walking around and museums were close by
“Excellent value in New York”
I'd stayed at Park 79 last year so immediately sought it out when a friend and I decided to spend a weekend in New York this year. It's just as I remember--clean, friendly staff, excellent location, nice neighbourhood. It's definitely no frills and small rooms--but if you travel often enough you know not to expect palatial hotel rooms in large cities. Both times I stayed here were in winter and the rooms can be chilly--pack warm PJs. Some rooms have shared bathrooms--my experience last year was that they were clean. This time we'd booked a double room but there were none by the time we checked in--staff immediately offered a cot at no charge--this wasn't a big deal for us and they handled it really well. I'll continue to stay at the Park 79 when I travel to New York.
“Will do it again!”
Very quaint and cozy. Staff were friendly. Especially loved the duvet. The location is great. Walking distance to great restaurants, cafes, central park & subway.
“Everything we needed”
We were upgraded from a shared bathroom to ensuite for free upon arrival. Hotel ideal for public transport and location was lovely. Room had everything we needed although a bit compact. Ideal if you plan to be out all day. Would stay again.
“Great location and price”
The room is VERY small. Probably about 10 ft wide and maybe 14-15 feet deep. But it works. The location is great, just a block away from the park and subway. For the price, I would definitely go back again.
“Good hotel in great location.”
Friendly service and clean, comfortable room in great location. Maybe they could fit in another small table by bed, but maybe not. If you don't like down, bring your own pillow. Front desk said they had only down,which I thought strange. Great value for the money.
