Metro Apartments

Posted 14-Apr-2014
The Metro Apartments were clean and pleasant. The man at the front desk bumped us to a deluxe when there was a reservation mix-up. The walls/doors are a little thin. We could hear the TV and the laughs of the person watching it very clearly. As I'm sure they could ours at night. The hotel is located a block away from the Port Authority so it was very quick to get transportation to just about anywhere, yet it was close enough to most NYC attractions that it was an easy walk or, in many cases, only slightly more to take a cab than to take the subway. It was worth the extra $1-$2 ($6-$8 with tip for two)for the cab ride to save the time of getting in and out of the subway. But the subway is cheaper for anything farther away than 8-10 blocks. ($5 for two) There weren't any amenities directly out the doors, but a block away there were plenty of stores and eateries. The kitchenette's are great for storing extra snacks or whipping up a quick something if you don't want to eat out. But we found we ate out more than we thought we might. But hey, it's New York, sampling local cuisine is part of the experience.

Nice large studio

Posted 28-Mar-2014
Pros: largeness of the studio, comfortable queen-size bed
Cons: Very heavy door into the lobby.
Location: The location is a little away from things in an area called Hell's Kitchen.
I have stayed at Metro Apartments twice now. This time I had a large studio apartment. It had everything I could need, including free wi-fi, fridge, two-burner stove, coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, dishes, pans. I stayed four days this time and discovered that the buses were a better option for me as I walk with a cane--no steps down to the subway and back up, no searching for where the elevator is or is not. I had been worried about that some and was pleased to learn I had the other transportation option. Right near Ninth Street, home of many restaurants and food places.

Large Modern Room.

Posted 17-Mar-2014
Pros: Close to Broadway shows, and restaurants
The staff is friendly, the room was large. There is a fridge, stove top, microwave. The bathroom is updated and clean. The hotel is near some great restaurants on 9th Ave., and near Times Square. That being said I will repeat what several others have said that it can be noisy. The exit for the Lincoln tunnel is close by, and there is a lot of traffic and noise, horn honking etc. But for the price it is worth it.

Cheap and Comfortable Stay in Manhatttan - NewYork

Posted 27-Jan-2014
Pros: Location , Cleanliness
Cons: Complimentary Breakfast.
Location: Nearby places - Madame Tussaud , Times Square
I had booked a standard room and to my delight , during check-in my booking was upgraded to a luxury one. Had a very clean and spacious room and bathrooms . You will have no regret with this booking.

Costlier for the kind of service

Posted 15-Jan-2014
Pros: Closer to my workplace
Cons: Breakfast or self service snack counter
My expectations were equal to Courtyard but was disappointed with the service

Great Location

Really enjoyed staying here for New Years as when we returned to the apartment the management left a complimentary bottle of champagne in our kitchen which was a lovely surprise, it's comfy and just around the corner from Times Square.

The room was clean but hard to regulate temperature with a baseboard heater. The kitchenette was handy and stocked for 2 people. The beds were very uncomfortable and the rollaway bed was more comfortable. Overall ok for a nights stay for the price.

Comfortable convenient and close

Great! Very happy, especially laden I had to book two extra nights because of flights cancelled at La Guardia. Staff very helpful, friendly and sympathetic, shout out to Chris at the front desk! Only drawback was incredibly noisy on the Lincoln Tunnel side of the hotel, hundreds of buses roaring close by day and night. Supermarket just next street over, 100m walk or so, so with the fridge, toaster, coffee maker, stove top and microwave you can set yourself up for basic meals. Times Square and subway are short walk away.
