The Location and the price are great.Posted 25-Aug-2014
The combination of location and price is nearly unmatchable. However, the room condition is not ideal. It was less than acceptable to my standards. If you are like most travelers, and would like to spend the night rather than spending thousands, then it's the perfect place.

Close to Javitz Convention Center--goodPosted 2-Aug-2014
Pros: Distance from Javitz Center
Cons: Obtaining more than one key for a room
Location: Just used the Javitz Center
Was bothered to have one key for three people! Strange! Getting a hold of front desk difficult. Bigger than I thought for New York which was good.

Good economical option close to times squarePosted 17-Jul-2014
The location is close to many restaurants and attractions within walkable distace. Bus/Metro too within walkable. Bit noisy(may be some rooms) as it is close to port authority bus terminal. The walk ways right next to the hotel (41st st) are not great, but you can quickly get into 42nd (just cross one signal) which has good walk ways and bustling energy and feel safe. We got rolling bed for the kid for free (though not explicitly mentoned earlier). It has laundry machines and useful particularly going with kids.

Horrible locationPosted 21-Jun-2014
Pros: The small kitchen. Good for stays of more than 2-3 days.
Cons: Location, maintenance of the hotel, amenities.
Location: Walk to 9th Av, and to all Hell's Kitchen bars and restaurants.
Worst is the location. Just behind Port Authority, between the bridges leading the buses to the station, and 41 St., where a lot of buses and trucks are heading west. Other unpleasant things: WLess was so weak, I could not connect to it with my laptop. The overall maintenance condition was not good. Stuff is welcoming and nice, though.

Basic hotel in a central locationPosted 15-Jun-2014
Pros: Location, friendly staff
Cons: Update the air conditioning in the rooms to run more quietly
Location: Good location for Times Square with excellent transport links from which to explore the rest of the city. Get a metro card to save on cab fares.
If you're travelling to New York on a budget and not expecting a 5* hotel then the Metro Apartments may well fit the bill. Conveniently located on w41st - only 2 blocks from the Subway at Port Authority and approx 5 blocks from Times Square. The hotel is fairly basic, the room was clean when we arrived, bear in mind there isn't a daily maid service. The hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful though and clean towels etc were available on request. The facilities of the room were functional, a kitchenette with sink and private bathroom. Our room overlooked the Port Authority Bus Terminal entry and exit ramps so it was quite noisy, as was the dated air conditioning unit. For the money though, this hotel was a perfect base from which to explore the city and we would book to stay here again.

Below my expectation. Won't stay again.Posted 14-Jun-2014
It is an old building with some parts renovated. Rooms are quite big for a Manhattan hotel. I had an old room which was initially clean BUT during my 5 night stay NO CLEANING / HOUSE KEEPING visited my room ! Imagine the condition after 5 nights. Location was very close to Times Square (10 minutes by walking). As hotel is close to tunnel and bus terminal traffic was very busy around the hotel at all times but especially it was very noisy early in the morning which may wake you up. Most positive thing about the hotel is very friendly and helpful front desk stuff (special thanks to them).

Convenient to good restaurants and Time SquarePosted 13-Jun-2014
I stayed for six nights recently. The desk staff was friendly and kindly upgraded me to a one bedroom apartment upon check in. Certainly more room than I was used to in NYC! For the most part it was very comfortable. The only changes I would make is a higher lip in the shower, to prevent water from covering most of the bathroom floor. Better lighting in the bathroom would be nice also. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!
