“And I'm A customer Service Snob...”
This hotel was AWESOME!!! The view was amazing from every angle, the location was perfect for puclic transportation, etc. but the staff and service was incredible. I have a few "special needs" that were just magically taken care of by the valets, bellmen, consierge (and bartenders!). I'm coming back..
“A good option when visiting NYC”
I've got to stay at the Hyatt because of the reviews and they had a good deal before summer. Otherwise I couldn't afford it. I was also lucky to get a room with a view of Upper Manhattan which made my trip even better. The location is perfect being steps away from the PATH system.
“Location, Location, Location”
First time to New York not really sure of the layout but what a wonderful surprise we had as we rose up the escalator from the PATH station to be greated by the skyline of Lower Manhatten. The hotel entrance was literaly less than 100 yrds from the station. Right on the river Hudson. Wonderful views of the city across the river. Out at the end of the hotel pier look down stram to see Ellis island and the Statue of Liberty. Hotel staff were great, polite and most helpful. Concierge got us all the info on places to go and how best to get there. Bar and Restaurant both good. Excellent food and Restaurant is a very romantic venue for dinner with the city lit up at night. Great place to stay, easy to get to and from the city, would love to go back someday.
“Hyatt on the Hudson”
For those of us who can do without the noise and craziness of Manhattan, the Hyatt on the Hudson provides a classy, clean and comfortable option. I am a native New Yorker and I love the city, but, whenever I go back now I stay at the Hyatt so as to maximize my dollar and my comfort. The staff (fromt the front desk to the valet) are courteous and quite helpful. This area is relatively new and the hotel's decor and ambiance reflect this. If you want to stay in a 5' X 7' in Midtown, go ahead. But if you know your way around the NY/NJ area and want comfort with style, stay at the Hyatt on the Hudson.
“Excellent”
Excellent location, unpretentious, comfortable
“A Great Choice”
My family went to NYC for Spring Break and after reading other reviews of this hotel it seemed a very logical and economical choice. We were not disappointed. 30 minutes from Newark Int'l. Staff friendly and happy to arrange ground transfers. Very convenient location--PATH Train 100 steps from door of hotel, then you're at WTC subway stop and it's then minutes to all of Manhattan, saved a ton staying there versus Times Square AND a big thing was that from this hotel you can see the beautiful Manhattan skyline from your room or the restaurant or on a quick stroll on the nearby piers. Nice part of Jersey City -- no vagrants. And within blocks of several eateries, a map of which the hotel provides. No regrets.
“very nice alternate to the city”
hotel was excellent. eveyone very friendly and nice. room was spacious and a great view of the city. more than you would get in the city at a very resonable rate for this high end hotel. travel to city was effortless as the Path was right outside the front door of hotel.
“Very convenient, magnificent harbor view”
Staff attitude excellent, cell-phoned us directly into their entrance from the New Jersey Turnpike. Attractive lobby and rooms, super-convenient to New York and metropolitian New Jersey.
“Will go back -- some logistics explanations”
We are Jersey-ites who had tickets to Broadway and stayed one night. The hotel's selling point is that it's on the river. But actually it's *IN* the river, rooms face N&S, not East. So to get the full effect, eat at the hotel restaurant. The N. rooms require some creative furniture re-arranging to get two people a good skyline view. The dinner was pricy, and worth it. Excellent. It doesn't start til 5:30pm, so don't plan anything between dinner and getting on the train, if seeing an 8:00pm show. On our schedule, logistics were important. As with most experiences, when we do it for the 2nd time (which we will), it will be much easier: 1) NJ Turnpike exit 14B says Jersey City, and 14C says Holland Tunnel. So you think, if I don't get off now, I'll end up in NYC. No, proceed past 14B and follow the rest of the directions, or you'll see more of Jersey City than you bargained for. 2) It's $31.05(?) for overnight valet parking, and $15.00 to park two blocks away. We drove right past the garage twice. So ask them where the hell it is first, drop off one person with the luggage, and go park.
“Wonderful Experience”
Everything about this hotel was fantastic but I was especially impressed with the high quality customer service.
