“Very impressed”
exceeded my expectations
“charming hotel”
Charming hotel in a beautiful neighborhood, Madison Avenue at 92nd Street. The only drawback is that it was a trek to go to most of the places we needed/wanted to go. Coffee and tea were always available on the second floor. The restaurant next door, called Island, was relaxed and pleasant. The car was valet-parked for $52 per day. Our room was a spacious and comfortable "king suite."
“Fantastic Hotel!!”
This hotel exceeded my expectations. Usually you pay way too much for a closet of a hotel room in NYC, but everything about this hotel was first class and the price was comparatively reasonable. It had an "old world" charm about it that was very comfortable. The rooms were well appointed. The "sitting room" and espresso machine was also a nice touch. The location is amazing too - two blocks from Central Park and a few minutes walk to museums and restaurants on the Upper East Side. I would definitely stay here again!
“Little Jewel in the City”
Lovely spot! My Go To Hotel in NYC.
“Best Value Hotel on UES”
Hotel is very charming and clean. The staff very friendly and helpful.
“Hotel Wales is the best "Hotel" New York has to offer.........”
Hotel Wales exceeded my expectations for a hotel...... It was a wonderful place to stay, convenient, food was excellent, all the staff was accommodating. It was beautiful hotel with a beautiful view and a safe neighborhood. Very child friendly. This Hotel will satisfy any guests expectations..... Nancy & family from North Carolina
“perfect but one noise”
all was perfect but there was a noise outside the window, possibly a ventilation/compressor fan which made a load noise once an hour or so and was difficult to sleep.....
“An Oasis”
Although the rooms are small, which is typical for New York hotels, The Wales' level of service more than makes up for it. They are caring and kind. The fact that the hotel is attached to Sarabeth's restaruant is an added plus as the food is outstanding and it provides room service. The neighborhood is delightful with many great restaurants and museums within close proximity.
“very nice highly recomended”
d place is very nice the rooms are very nice service was good , very clean , nice neighborhood, expensive ? yes but this is new York baby , me and my family highly recommend the place .
“Will Return if in NY again!”
The hotel was all we could ask for. The service was great. We really enjoyed the roof top terrace and the main breakfast room. It was in a great area and NO BED BUGS. Having a free continental breakfast really kept the cost of the trip down. The only issue about that breakfast is that for the 4 mornings we were there, the breakfast was the exact same all 4 days. But for free...that is fine by us. If we would return to NY, we would definitely stay at this hotel again. I would not recommend getting the super shuttle service. They cram people into the van completely full and will not leave until it is full. For the same price, you can take a taxi to your hotel, and if you find someone to ride with you, you can split the price making it the more affordable option. The subway station is about 8-10 blocks away. Prepare for that, especially if you have a pregnant wife :)
