“Too bad about the construction”
The hotel unfortunately was amid a number of construction projects in the neighborhood in various stages of completion so certainly the views from the balcony could have been nicer, but in the distance beyond the immediate surroundings was the Manhattan skyline, so it still offered a lot. The subway station was a block away so anywhere we wanted to go was just a short train ride into Manhattan. It was a beautiful hotel with a very nice restaurant and helpful staff. There was a deli right across the street for any necessities. It worked out nicely to take the train over to Manhattan during the day for sightseeing and then come back to a nice quiet hotel in the evening. Very pleased with it.
“Impressed”
Clean great location will be staying there again
“Great Location, Nice Room”
We arrived at our hotel at 2:30pm, and were allowed to check in, even though our check in time was 3:00pm. This was very much appreciated considering there was a blizzard going on outside! The room was clean and on the smaller side, but comfortable. Besides, we weren't going to spend a whole lot of time in our room anyways! The bed was very comfortable, and there were 2 firm and 2 soft pillows to suit your preference. The bathroom was also very nice, and large! Great shower and cute Bath and Body Works toiletries, also very important, a good hair blow drier is provided! There isn't much around the actual neighbourhood to do or eat, BUT the subway is literally a block down the street, getting you to Manhattan in about 15 minutes. There's also a great diner (friendly service, good and tasty, inexpensive food) at the corner by the subway if you want something before you head out. If your flight is coming in from LGA, we even took the subway/bus to catch our flight, and it took 20 mintues. We just bought the MTA weekly unlimited pass and took the subway everywhere, which was super convenient because of the hotel's proximity to the subway. All in all, we would definately stay here again, and recommend this hotel highly!
“Holiday Inn on steroids”
The hotel was beautiful, clean and in a great location for getting around the city. The views were awesome. I would definitely return.
“Great stay!”
I was at New York for the first time with my sister around christmas, and this hotel was our choice to stay because of price and good reviews. I´d never feel more comfortable in a hotel - everything was way better than we expected - friendly staff, GREAT rooms with flat screen TV and espresso machine, wonderful bathroom and a big, soft bed. Even the subway was only a 5 minutes walk away... Queens is not as beautiful as Manhattan, but if you wanna just have a cheap and nice stay, this hotel is the best choice!
“Defintiely worth the $$$”
One single phrase to say it all. One of the best hotels offered at a reasonable and affordable price
“excellent choice”
i based my choice of hotel on people's review and it was really great. Everything was great and just 1 block away from d subway & ur in the city already. Everything was nice...
“"almost" home away from home!”
Last time I stayed in an Holiday Inn hotel was when i was a kid...20+ yrs ago. I was pretty much expecting the same thing..."motel like"... I was pretty surprised with my "business traveler" like room...Honestly, i live n da city n just didnt wanna travel back to manhattan after a night out! lol... Clean contemporary decor, no "cheesey" colored walls, carpet, fixtures...except for the furniture..a lil dated but in good condition...lounge chair, office chair and BED/ linens were excellent! Awesome modern Granite Bath!!! For the price, extremely impressed overall...breakfast was very tasty as well...
“Very nice hotel in Queens just a few minutes by metro to Central St”
This is a very new property; at the time of my stay, neither the bar nor the restaurant where ready yet. The rooms are nice, modern and confortable. The relative proximity to Manhattan (hotel is 2 blocks away from subway station), make this a really good option worth considering if you are travelling on a budget.
“Great stay!”
My room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and very nice bathroom! The surrounding windows made it even better, and I was actually surprised to find the balcony when I opened up the curtains. I do plan to stay there again. Next time, I'll take advantage of the gym, the pool, and the bar conveniently located downstairs.
