Perfect conditions and service, except noisy

Everything was perfect, but the rooftop bar was very loud during weekends. I was woken up in the middle of my sleep due to the club party above.

great location and funky furnishings. lobby isn't very comfortable for hanging out but the rooftop makes up for it. staff are all very young and inexperienced and it seems that one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. rooms were great and spacious, especially for new york. hallways are very quiet as they are small and well carpeted, absorbing any sound from loud guests.

Great location, spacious, chic rooms, attentive

My stay at the Gansevoort Hotel Park Avenue was luxurious, indulgent, and highlighted by personalized service from a caring staff. I arrived on a cold Saturday afternoon, having booked through Expedia. The reception team was warm, friendly, and swift. I had a cold, tired toddler with me, and the doorman greeted her with a cheerful smile as he helped us in, the front desk brought her a bottle of water and quickly passed us the keys to get situated. A bellhop set up our room, 917, which overlooked a great view of the city, water towers, and park Avenu street scenes. We had a small balcony which made for fun people watching, too, and I thought a balcony in and of itself to be quite a rarity, and delightful, given the variety and range of boutique and large traditional hotels I've stayed in across the city. The room was HUGE by NYC standards, with a lovely couch, ottoman, chair, and desk- we could easily entertain friends for drinks or an impromptu Taylor Swift dance party with my baby and bestie. The huge soaking tub was the ultimate way to warm up after a day in the museum and night at the bars. We swam in the awesome rooftop pool at dusk, and enjoyed an unprecedented view of the Empire State Building from the water. Water was warm, and likely salt water, which felt great on our muscles. I had an awesome core barre workout at Exhale, on site, which is one of my favorite gyms/spas in the country. Ultimately, the Gansevoort Park Avenue is my new New York go-to hotel.

We go into the city all the time. Stayed in many hotels. This hotel was one of the best places that we have stayed in. Couldn't ask for a better place. From the valet to the front desk they treated you like royal. Would definitely recommend,we are looking forward to going back.

Nice boutique in good location

Posted 1-Jan-2015
Pros: The staff was wonderful and the gym was great with great equipment.
Cons: Full length mirror in the rooms
Location: Great location, close to the "6" Subway, easy to get to Rockefeller Center. Right by Empire State Building. Etc.
I liked the hotel but found the rooms to be fairly small. Also my girlfriend would have liked a full length mirror for getting ready.

Sad but true

Cons: Although there is an emphasis on high design, they need a new lighting engineer. Everywhere you look it seems dingy.
Can you believe that they charged you $2.00 for every cup if coffee you make in your own room. But that's a bargain compared to the cost of a cup in their restaurant $8.00.

Sunday night at Gansevoort Park

Posted 24-Dec-2014 on Hotels.com
We got a room on the fourth floor, they upgraded up us to a deluxe suite because apparently the regular room size was already booked and only had double queens available. On sunday night, we would have not expected so many sirens around Park ave. It was noisy. My wife slept fine. Maybe its just me. Room service food was definitely sub-par, we had better spaghetti and meatballs at olive garden. Food was over priced. Other than that, it was fine.
