Disappointing!

Posted 28-Oct-2014
Cons: Needs small repairs everywhere.
Overpriced! The pictures led me to believe that this hotel was larger and in better condition than it actually was. I paid $500. A night thinking I was getting a 1st class hotel. Should not have paid more than $300. It was not 1st class! Room service food wasn't very good either.

Very bad experience

Posted 18-Aug-2014
I took my wife to the Gansevoort Hotel park avenue NYC. The sweet that they put us in was dirty. We didn't get any sleep until 4 o'clock in the morning when the lounge closed because our sweet was directly under the dance floor. The most embarrassing thing that was the hotel maid walked I on my wife and I without knocking while we were having inter course. The managers were rude and did not take anything off the bill.

OVER-HYPED/ OVER-RATED

The beds are NOT comfortable. Floors 12-18.. Good luck getting sleep on the weekends- the bass from the club is bumping until 4am. The rooms are small for the price (and we got a special rate!) The food at the lounge and pool is terrible. You are paying for the club scene that you can just visit. Go elsewhere!!!!!

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful purple chandeliers in lobby. Rooftop pool and bar is great. Can't say one bad thing about the hotel. We would definitely go back

Very Satisfied

Modern, very large rooms with the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in. My husband and I stayed here because we wanted a 5 star experience with some decent nightlife. That's exactly what we got. Although a bit too "clubby" for our taste after 11pm, the bar area was fun with good people watching. A little more "grown up" than the Gansevoort-Meatpacking. A beautiful new property that is expanding in the spring of 2011. Not centrally located if you are a first time tourist, but ideal if you need to stay in this area or want to be inbetween uptown and downtown.

Exceeded expectations in every respect

Everything was terrific. Received upgraded room that was amazing. Staff was helpful and available. Room spacious, clean and extremely well appointed. Bed was great. Just wish I could have stayed longer. Only drawback is regular price which is prohibitively expensive. Can't afford regular prices...even on expense account.
