“superb location great hotel”
stayed for one week.great location, near all attractions good diner 5 mins away on 2nd avenue and a great selection of pubs/reataraunts on 3rd avenue.l wil definately return.
“Clean and Comfortable”
The Eastgate was very reasonably priced, clean and comfortable. Would stay there again without hesitation. The room was larger than I expected!
“Solid choice for families and couples traveling together.”
We were given a 2-bedroom suite with kitchen on the 20th floor. The various rooms were spacious and comfortable. This would be a great place to stay with friends and/or relatives.
“Loved the location”
It was close to everything... Didn't even need a cab to see the sights!
“Brilliant for families”
We booked a two bedroom suite as we were travelling with 2 teenagers and wanted to be close enough but still maintain a bit of space and privacy. The suite although a little dated in appearance was massive and fully functional. The two kids were made up with their own room with their own telly and double bed each and we loved the fact that we had a bathroom each, fully functional kitchen and huge living area complete with dining table. Perfect for keeping the costs down when preparing our own breakfasts or grabbing a take away on the evenings when we were too tired to go out from all the sightseeing during the day. Depending on the makeup of your group the suite could easily sleep 8; 6 very comfortably. The location was ideal with Grand Central station with subway about 5 mins walk away and umpteen drug, grocery stores and restaurants all within a couple of blocks. Would definitely recommend if travelling as a family or group of friends.
“Eastgate Tower Hotel”
I would recommend this hotel for families or larger groups. The accommodation was excellent for a family of six including 4 teenagers. The suite comprised a huge sitting and dinning area with 2 large bedrooms with 3 double beds and a sofa bed in the sitting room, the beds were comfortable but I would recommend the sofa beds for the lighter members of the family who wouldn't notice the mattress quality. There was also a tv in each room. There was a small but adequate kitchen and the whole suite was perfect for takeaways and cooking light meals, just what was wanted after a long day sight seeing. The location was good, with plenty of diners, takeaways and stores around the block. We would recommend Sarges diner and Dukes bar both around 3rd avenue and east 37th, and at the bottom of the road round the corner from mcdonalds a pizza place for excellent take aways. We were only 10 minute walk from both Grand Central Station and the Empire State building. The standard of the hotel is basic but clean and comfortable which is exactly what you want with a family and I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a family who is looking for the space to relax after a long day.
“A Grand Stay”
We could walk to almost anything from the hotel and what might be too much of a hike was accessible from the subway and buses which are all within a few blocks. The staff is friendly, helpful and not pushy. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I'd recommend this spot .
“great place for a great price”
Our room was big and clean, more than enough room for 4 people. The front desk was very accomidating on some special requests we had. Great area too. Liked being in the UN area. We were very comfortable walking at night. We were able to grab some late night snacks (to keep in the fridge) at the grocery store around the corner.Liked having the kitchen so we didnt feel like we had to go out to eat, even though we did, and had a place to put doggy bags after we got back. Really made our first NY trip a great one. Would stay here again without a second thought!
“Excellent stay”
Good location, very nice and efficient staff, very clean rooms, good kitchen in room. No complaints at all.
“Bon hotel”
Hôtel très bien situé. Suite spacieuse et la cuisine bien équipée est très appréciable.
