“Best hidden gem in NYC!”
We stayed at The Distrikt end of January 2011 for 3 days and were extremely satisfied. Staff was very polite and personable. The condition of the hotel is excellent, the room was always clean. The rooms are not large, however they are not cramped, the beds are super comfortbale and the bathrooms are roomy. The location was ideal, as you are only a few minutes away from Time Square and a subway station is also near by. Safety concerns were a non issues (due to the fact the hotel is right across Port Authority). We felt safe no matter what time we would arrive back in the evening, Have travelled to NYC many times during the last 5 years and this is by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in. As we are going back in Septemeber, we will definately stay there again.
“Fantastic time had at a fantastic hotel”
This was our first trip to New York and tried this hotel on the recommendation of others. We were not disappointed. My wife and I stayed 6 nights. The hotel is small with no more than five bedrooms on each of its 32 floors. We stayed on floor 23 and could not have been happier with our room. The bed was extremely comfortable with first class bedding and furnishings. Large bathroom (shower only) which was spotlessly clean. Nice touch on arrival of two brownies being left for us together with information as to how to access the hotels free wifi. Small bistro / bar which was more than adequate for our needs and wants, serves breakfast and a small selection of evening meals. Like everything at the hotel it was spotlessly clean. All staff at the hotel were very very good, not that we ever needed anything. They could not have been more helpful and friendly. The hotel is well postioned, on W 40th St about 8 minutes walk from Times Square. Across the road from the Port Authority bus terminal and with a subway station at the end of the street. One block from the New York Times building. W40th St itself is not the nicest St but we had no problems and did not feel unsafe. Overall we had a great stay in the big apple made easier by staying at a first class boutique hotel.

Distrikt hotel in good area for sightseeing,walked to Central park ,Empire State,Macy's,Waldorf Hotel for Sunday brunch and many other places of interest.Subway was also easy to use which is located on 4Oth street a few steps from Distrikt hotel.Found our rooms very quite,clean and comfortable.Only suggestion would be to have a small fridge in rooms to keep drinks and milk chilled (must have my early morning cuppa).Found reception people very friendly and helpful on many occasions.
“clean and modern in convenient location”
I am a NYC resident who likes to have mini-getaway dates at hotels in my own city. My partner and I stayed 1 night in a "Standard Queen" room - a nice clean medium-size room on the 2nd floor. Decor is sleek and modern. Bathroom: Super-clean, medium-size, with a lot of counter space. No bathtub. There's a stall shower w/ a glass door. Roomy for 1 but not big enough for 2. Great hot water and water pressure. Lots of towels provided, and also 1 robe. Bed: Good bed, especially pillows. You get two firm pillows, two soft ones, so pretty certainly you can be comfortable. Sheets however, not so comfy - starched so much they are crispy. Noise: Pretty quiet. There's only 5 rooms per floor, so minimal noise from hallway. Amenities: There is a desk & chair, a very small clothes closet, and a full length mirror. They offer free wi-fi internet here, though I didn't try it. Location: great - right near Port Authority, super convenient for getting anywhere. HOWEVER, the block it's on is... while not really dangerous, it looks shady. And it's just that one block. If you go one block west to 9th Ave, it's nice again with lots of restaurants. Overall: I'd highly recommend this room to anyone traveling solo for a short stay. Especially someone traveling for business. But there weren't a lot of features to appeal to a couple looking for leisure/romance. And there's not a lot of storage space for clothes, so can't really "unpack yourself" for a long stay. Good experience overall here.

“Distrikt hotels, parfait pour une visite à NW”
"Petit" hotel en largeur mais qui fait bien une trentaine d'étages. Qualité du service parfaite, propreté impeccable, décoration style moderne, chambres bien équipées (grand lit confortable, écran plat, radio réviel avec dock pour recharger son iphone ....). N'a pas la "prestance" d'autre hotels plus grand et forcément plus cher mais parfait pour ce qu'on lui demande: une chambre ou dormir de qualité et bien placée; en effet, la rue où il est située (40ème entre la 8e et la 9e avenue) est une petite rue sans grand intéret mais c'est juste à coté du "Bus terminal", à 2 pas de Time square, avec une bouche de métro au bout de la rue. C'était notre 1er voyage à New York, nous y sommes resté 1 semaine ... et l'hotel, nous n'y avons que dormi, Donc, c'était parfait pour nous. Je le recommande vivement !!!
“I will definitly stay at the Distrikt when I return to NYC.”
This beautiful modern, new, and conveniently located hotel is exactly what I needed for my recent stay in NYC. Not only did they have fresh and refreshing ice tea provided in the lobby throughout the day (98 degree heat in Manhattan), but they also provided excellent coffee in the a.m. The staff was friendly and accessible and provided turn-down service each night and a clean and welcoming room each day. The restaurant near the lobby provided several choices for breakfast and also conveyed a friendly and accomodating staff. I will definitely stay at the Distrikt in the future!

Hôtel neuf, très bien situé (métro à 30 secondes, Time Square à 5min), les prix devraient malheureusement grimper une fois les promo d'ouverture passées.
“THE BEST!!!!”
This hotel is by far the BEST hotel in New York, so clean and amazing service there is NOTHING I could fault. I am extremely happy with the help of the hotel staff and basically EVERYTHING. You also have access to the internet in the lobby and its free. The location is amazing considering its around the corner from times square. Now if your wondering about the parole office, it is about two hotels down from the Distrikt hotel and yes, it is very close but to be fair don't let it put you off. Guys did approach us but you just carry on walking, There are police everywhere anyway. The price was reasonable if not really good and I hope it stays like this so I can go again next year.
“right smack in the middle!”
if ur looking for a place where its at the centre of everything...in this case, smack in the middle of times square...rthen this will be the BEST hotel EVERRRRRRRRR!!!! its 5 mins to EVERYWHER!!! hehe... but rooms bit small...but trust me...ITS NICE!!!!
