“Outstanding Hotel to Visit Manhattan”
We have stayed at the Comfort Inn in Long Island City several times over the past few years - it is convenient to the subway to Manhattan (N, Q, 7 lines), the rooms are very nice (if a bit on the small side) and it includes free breakfast. During past stays, we managed to street park but this time we used an underground garage 1 block away - for $10 per day (an outstanding value). Highly recommended for families visiting NYC (we have 2 kids, ages 12 and 5).
“I would stay here again.”
I traveled with an infant and was very please to see that they brought in what looked to be a brand new pack and play, clean sheet and blanket. I did have to laugh when I looked out the window and saw a recycled center full of stuff but I also saw a new tree with pretty flowers on it. At times you could hear some traffic from the train/highway behind the hotel however it did not wake us up. Good bang for your buck; close to subway but there were no elevators since the subway was older. We figured out if you (since we carried the stroller up three flights on stairs to get to the subway) that if you walked towards the CITI building a few blocks away they have elevators there. Two thumbs up!
“New York's best bargain!”
This must be New York's best bargain! Handy for subway. Central Manhattan only minutes away and plenty trains. Very clean accomodation at a bargain price with nice complimentary breakfast as a bonus. We'll certainly come again!
“hotel near the train”
The hotel near the train which allow us easy access to manhattan and to all sports events withourt having a car. One of the highlights were also walking over the queens borough bridge.. at night to grab a bite to eat.. that was act of adventure. Overall the trip was splendid. definitely will tell anyone about it ...good times
“Comfort Inn , Long Island City”
Very friendly people there and nice breakfast. The only problem , you need to catch a train or a bus to go downtown . Otherwise , I had a LOVELY stay there . The area is quiet which means you can walk around even late at night which I DID and I was on my own this time . I WOULD definitively recommend this hotel .
“Convenient, wecoming and great value”
Really convenient for the subway and just a short journey to Manhattan. Room was clean, comfortable and with the usual facilities (including free internet point) but no space to spare. 24-hour free tea and coffee in the breakfast area, free morning newspapers, and continental-style buffet included. Front desk staff very helpful; perfect for the price.
“Excellent location and very friendly”
This hotel was great for two things - the close proximity to the Queensboro Plaza subway (one stop straight into Manhatten) and the fantastic breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable, staff all very friendly and happy to help. The area was fine too, never felt threatened or uncomfortable. I would definitely recommend to those wishing to save a couple of dollars who don't mind not staying directly in Manhatten.
“Recommended- great value for what you get”
The hotel was exactly as other reviewers have mentioned. The room was very clean, spacious with a big T.V. and a nice bathroom. Absolutely no complaints. Yes, the view from my room overlooked a scruffy junk yard, but you are not in Queens for the view out of your window. You are out all day doing the sights of Manhatten The hotel is about a 2 min walk to the Queensboro Plaza subway so extremely convenient (A good point about the hotel is that as far as I know a lot of the rooms are facing a quiet direction away from the subway and Times Square, Manhatten is about 12 mins away. The area around the hotel while not the most up-market, certainly didn't feel unsafe at all. As previously stated by others the breakfast hall is a tiny area with four tables but you can take things to your room, no problem. It was crowded with an Asian coach party of 30 one morning. I had breakfast at 6 most days when it was very quiet and got a table easily. The buffet style breakfast was very good, with waffles, toast, jams, boiled eggs, cereals, fruit juice, coffee, doughnuts. Overall, I'd recommend this Comfort Inn. As they say in the blurb on one of there brochures, why pay Manhatten prices for a comfortable, welcoming hotel? I was in the La Quinta two stops down the road last time I was in New York and can recommend that hotel too. Queens is good for getting a good hotel at a decent price.
“Way Convenient, Close to Subways”
This hotel has all you would look for. Great price, clean, and conveniently located. The rooms were clean, good complimentary breakfast, and super close to multiple subway lines. I had great interactions with the hotel staff. I will be staying here again.
“Very Accomodating”
We had a great stay at the hotel. It was clean and the staff was polite and accomodating. The neighborhood was not a highlight. of our stay, but the subway was a very short walk away and about 10 minutes to all the action in NYC. There was a great deli within the block of the hotel and a great restuarant that delivered a sumptuous seafood alfredo. I would definately stay again if affordability is a factor. It is a great alternative to the pricey hotels in Manhattan. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was very nice. The maid service was exceptional and very appreciated.
