“Excellent Hotel Stay - May 2008”

I had a great time in NYC, made even better by the friendly, efficient staff at this hotel. The room was clean & cozy (big enough for 1 person) and the free breakfast was incredible. The staff was kind enough to store my luggage after check-out so I could tour the city. It's a great location across from Central Park & only 3 subway stops from 42nd Street. I will come back to stay at this hotel later this year on vacation.

“Great for the price”

This hotel was great for the price. In fact, I've stayed at 2 1/2 star places that weren't as nice. It had a free breakfast, with options like waffles, yogurt, and pancakes-- not your usual dry pastry breakfast like most hotels. It also had free wireless internet, which was great for me to keep in touch with my business back home. The room was always clean, and everything was in good condition. I would stay there again.

“A great NYC stay!!”

We loved this hotel. The room was comfortable, the breakfast room was clean and the food was fresh. The location was the best. Very close to Central Park. We would stay here again.

“Stellar price for last minute and SUPER area, with lots of eats in walking distance.”

I was visiting family for Christmas week. Im a native new yorker, but live & work in Boston now. I took a late train in, booked the ROOM (run of the house) last one left here, as it was so close to where I was going for Christmas shows & parties. While the room was VERY small, you'd have more room, literally, in a prison cell, but it was cheap & last minute & I was coming on at 3am, few days before Christmas. The lady at the front desk, was direct, but pleasant and welcoming, especially at that hour. The hallways are small & everything seems squished together, but the next morning, instead of moving to another hotel or staying with friends or family (ughh), I stayed again. The African American front desk gentleman that was on, was absolutely STELLAR. He went above & beyond the expectations of staff, he showed me personally another, bigger room & the lady working with him even upgraded me I believe. I didn't eat breakfast there per se, but both mornings I went there to grab some fruit & they were closing, as I don't do morning well & even though this very young women was cleaning up, she asked if i wanted anything to go & helped me get some stuff she had already put away. Everyone at this hotel was super friendly!!! Also when I checked into a larger room., I had an amazing city view and the room was spacious. It really exceeded my expectations. Thank you. Santa Fe stellar Mexican, amazing margaritas and 24 hour pizza joint same block.

“first choice for next trip”

Loved the neighborhood. Short walk to Central Park. Really good resturants close by. Room was small, but very clean and comfortable. Only one small elevator and sometimes had to wait, but considered that minor. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

“Very friendly & extremely close to Central Park”

Even though the rooms were pretty small we had an extremely good time there. The staff is very, very friendly and helpful. Rooms are really clean (towels and bed got changed every day and were always bright white). Continental breakfast was one of the best I've ever had with different fruits und juices, waffles, bacon, sausage, two different kind of eggs, all kinds of cereal, oatmeal, toast, bagels, donuts and much more. The location is fantastic: 100 metres to Central Park and equally close to two different subway stations which get you anywhere in NYC. Wouldn't get the highest possible rating from me because of the small rooms but I sure do recommend it if you don't want to hang out in your room the whole day. If I ever go back to NYC, I'll book here. For this price you won't find much better. Just don't expect the Hilton! somewhere else

“great location”

Great, quiet neighborhood with a subway stop just around the corner. Room looked like it had been updated recently. The bed was extremely comfortable. Very convenient to have the free breakfast. The only problem was the noise. We heard every door slam and the air conditioning unit was noisy. Overall very nice hotel for the price. I would highly recommend it. Just bring earplugs!

“Great Price, Great Location”

This hotel is smallish, but it serves the basic needs of a tourist that desires great service, great price, and great location on a limited budget. Cantral Park, Subway station, Museums, and great restaurants around hotel. Observing employees conversating in a foreign language around check-in area does not provide a professional image.
