A neat hotel that is within blocks of Times Square and the Empire State Building. The hotel was clean and colorful.

“Affordable Hotel”

Chelsea Star is an affordable hotel in the heart of chelsea. I stayed in a dorm type room with 3 other guys and I loved it!!! My room and bathroom were cleaned daily. This hotel is very closed to Penn Station, Hearld Square, Post Office, Subway, etc. Will likely stay at Chelsea Star again to save myself money in NYC. Hotel rooms in New York can be very expensive.

The Hotel was fantastic! The place was clean, they had a bathroom on each floor and all of the bathrooms were very clean. The people working at the desk were very helpful, giving you tips, helping you understand the subway etc. The location of the hotel was great, it's a minute walk away from Penn station, Madison Square Garden is very close, Times Square is also very close to 5th avenue, there are loads of cool places to eat and chill located very close to the hotel. If your looking for a hotel that is in the centre of the main attractions in New York but for a cheap price. This is the place to be. When I go to New York again I am definetly staying there again! A great place!!

“Excellent Choice of Hotel”

I have to admit I was just a tad worried about the shared bathroom - but given all the good reviews on this site I decided to try it. When I got to the hotel they immediately and without asking upgraded my room choice. They are fantastic. The staff was SUPER. The hotel was clean, the location was GREAT. I will definitely be staying with Chelsea Star again. They have Wireless internet for laptops in your room, and two nice 'Pay-as-you-go' computers downstairs. This was very nice as it has a printer attached. So you can print out your plane boarding tickets.

It was a very nice crowd welcoming us and arranging shuttles, giving us information. We really enjoyed the very clean space and nice atmosphere!

“Stylish Hotel”

Every room has its own "feel" or "look" to it. Since I was staying for 3 days, they upgraded me to a room with a bathroom which was really cool. I'll definitely be staying there the next time I travel to NY. It's close to everything in the city.

“Worth it”

The hostel style hotel was quiet and served our purposes. Only about a 15-20 minute walk to get uptown in the Times Square area. The hotel was centrally located, although we were a little worried when we had to buzz in to get into the building, those worries were soon dismissed. The room served its purpose as we didn't intend on spending much time there, but rather on the sights of NYC.

“Amazing location for such a cheap price!”

Perfect for young travelers by themselves. Maybe not the best way to stay for a family however. I was amazed at how friendly and helpful the entire staff was. One block away from Penn Station subway lines which was amazing! For the price you absolutely cannot beat the location. This was my first time staying at a hostel and everything more than exceeded my expectations! I will definitely be staying here the next time I visit NYC.
