5 mins walk from station

Posted 15-Sep-2014
Location: Using the subway, you can get to all attractions quickly.
In mid-town, nice neighbourhood. Easy access to train station which is cheap & efficient. We love the tea & coffee room they have for hotel guests. They provide excellent quality tea & coffee there. I wish other hotels would adopt their system. Room is clean, quality towels sheets & toiletries supplies. Had a great 5 nights stay there.

Very well located hotel

Posted 8-Sep-2014
Pros: Everything was good about our stay
Location: Madison Square Park, Shake Shack, the Flatiron, Eataly and a real favourite of mine - Hill Country Chicken - are just a couple of blocks away
The location of this hotel means it is a real option to walk everywhere and not have to brave the NY subway or the difficulties of finding a yellow cab at certain times. Everyone from check in staff to the bell hop/bag concierge very friendly and professional.

Good Location

I didn't care for the manager on duty. She took no responsibility for an issue we had. It was like talking to a wall. Other than that it was good.

NYC

Posted 5-Sep-2014
Pros: The room was a good size for NYC. Have stayed in hotels before that were quit a bit smaller. Location was good but not great.
Cons: The concierge could be a little more excited about his job. Not the friendly type. Breakfast was OUTRAGEOUS. For 4 people it cost $130.00
Location: Too far of a walk to Time Square You are right next to Korean Way Lounge 230 5th is a walk away
Had a wonderful time in NYC. Though we found the city quit dirty this time, lots of homeless people. Which is very sad. We have been there 5 times in the past and that was one of the things that we took notice of was how clean the city was and we didn't see and homeless people sleeping on the streets. Did the Hop on Hop Off Buses Went to the Brooklyn Tabernacle great experience

Nice hotel a few blocks from Empire State Building

Posted 5-Sep-2014
Hotel was nice and friendly staff. This hotel is in less busy part of New York. Lovely pizza place 2 blocks down and a few blocks from the 230 rooftop bar which has a great view of New York.

Great Midtown Station

Posted 3-Sep-2014
Pros: Best location in NYC, small very clean nicely set up rooms with very comfortable beds.
Cons: Add a chair to the room besides the desk chair.
Location: Too many to list really, Empire State Building, Herald Sq, shopping, Union Sq., Flatiron building..........and on and on
Love staying at the Carlton, great midtown location within walking distance of .......well, everywhere we want to go! Near by subway station if you want to travel further afield, like uptown museums or downtown Chinatown. Good meals within walking distance. Love the atmosphere in the lobby and the staff are great, so pleasant.

New York Hotel

Posted 29-Aug-2014
We had a great holiday and the hotel was in a good location to get around New York. Would have liked tea and coffee making facilities within the room rather than having to go down to the business centre on the ground floor. Air con unit very noisy, although did the job, but also disrupted sleeping. Had a room with 2 double beds to accomodate the family which was very spacious with a large bathroom. Overall though a good hotel with friendly staff.

Beautiful building...furnishings run down

Posted 27-Aug-2014
The hotel itself left me with a great feeling- great staff and the building has so much character. Had the best night sleep there I've ever had in NYC which is hard to get in the noisy Murray Hill neighborhood! The only downside is that the furnishing in my room were very run down. The bed runner was pilling, the desk was chipped, the chair leather was torn...just run down. I was able to overlook these flaws, however, and enjoyed my stay. The lobby is gorgeous, and the buildin is beautiful itself, just the old/broken room furnishings need to be replaced.
