“Very good Place”
Is a very good hotel, the neighborhood is fine too, didn't have many noises. Its a peaceful place to stay. Have a Metro station close and in 20 minutes you arrive in Times Square.
“Good Location for Brooklyn Pier”
Stayed at this hotel the night before boarding a cruise ship departing from the Brooklyn Pier. Very convenient to the Pier - would have been able to walk if it hadn't been for the amount of luggage - just a quick cab ride. Average hotel but safe neighborhood and friendly staff.
“Pleasantly Surprised”
I wasn't sure what to expect from such an inexpensive hotel, and I was pleasantly surprised. Even before we checked in I had to call and change our reservation and the person working at the front desk was very helpful. We stayed here one night for a business trip and it was ideal. The room was clean and comfortable, not posh in any way. I'd say my least favorite thing about staying here is not having coffee available in the morning. And if you need to get around without a car you should expect to take a taxi or car service. Our taxi from LaGuardia was only $24, before tip.
“Had a nice time”
The staff was very helpful and understanding to the clients needs.
“Enjoyable stay just out of NYC”
Pleasant and friendly staff. Perfect location as we had a car. The hotel was easy to find. The hotel was clean and smelled good. The price was right.
“Good for shoestring budget! But don't expect too much.”
Hotel Maintainance: The reception and elevators look shabby. The room was small but reasonably clean. Bathroom was OK. Hotel Staff: Nice and polite Neighborhood: Not well maintained. Looks like a poor neighborhood. And a little scary to go out at night asmost all shops close at about 9 PM. Connectivity: OK. B61 bus stop is very close which goes all the way to Brooklyn downtown. Form there, one can take metro 4 to Manhattan. Overall. Cheap way to stay close to Brooklyn. But try to stock up food and water before coming as neighborhood grocery stores are not well equipped. And never plan to walk out of hotel at night. TIP to hotel owner: Please make drinking water available(I am not talking about vending machines). Make the reception lobby a little more inviting. And maybe arrange complimentary breakfast.
“Inexpensive but far from the subway station.”
The price of the room was inexpensive, but the location was around 4 long blocks from the subway station and at night I wouldn't want to have to walk back to the hotel that long of a distance. The people were friendly enough but the room was very cold initially and the heater took awhile to get the room warm. It was very cold outside so that might be taken into consideration. The room was clean and not too expensive so under those standards it was nice, but it didn't have a free continental breakfast which is what I normally expect from a hotel. The immediate area around the hotel seemed nice enough during the daytime and its right across the street from a couple of bars.
“Adequate”
As far as NYC hotels go, it's a cheap rate (anywhere else in the country, it would be grossly overpriced), and it's close to a subway stop. These are the reason to stay there. The neighborhood is questionable, the quilt had cigarette burns: that's the type of hotel it is. On the plus side, there was absolutely NO evidence of any bed bugs. I was alone and only at the hotel to sleep, so it was fine; a romantic getaway or a family vacation based there would be miserable (not least because they have free porn that rather surprises you when you're flipping through the channels and get to it). It's adequate. I got exactly what I thought I was paying for. With a bigger budget, I would have been in midtown Manhattan.
