“great location”

A friend and I stayed at the Americana Inn we actually expected just a so-so place and was pleasantly surprised when we got there, the room we stayed in was actually bigger than we thought it would be and we never had to wait even one minute for the bathroom, everything was clean, and the staff was very nice and helpful.Great location. I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone going to manhattan for the sight seeing and etc,and not planning just to sit around in their hotel room.

“Excellent value and location...”

I was a little wary of booking a room with a shared bath, but the Americana Inn allayed what few concerns I had. Rooms are small, but clean and efficient. My biggest fear - the bathrooms - turned out to be a non-issue. There was one shared bathroom for each cluster of 3-4 rooms, and with approximately five "cluster" on each floor, there was never a time where there wasn't a bathroom available. The bathrooms (and the rest of the hotel) were spotlessly clean. The location in central mid-town is unbeatable. The building is secure, and the availability of the 24-hour deli across the corner was super convenient. I will definitely stay here on every future trip to New York!

“Great value”

Great hotel (inn). Got to the hotel over an hour before check-in, but they let us go up to our room early. Fixed a problem with our window within an hour. Shared bathrooms not a problem, never had to wait for one. Perfect location for all the major sites and hop on and off tour buses. Baggage storage very handy as able to go off and explore more on last day as had late flight.

“Great Stay”

We come to NYC to see the city so we are not looking for anything fancy...just a bed to lay our head. This place was clean, staff was friendly and courteous. No complaints.

“Clean and safe”

This hotel was of all things very clean including the shared restrooms. The rooms were small but served the purpose. It was fine for two people. The location was also very good, close to everything. We would definely stay there again when in New York.

“Good mid-town bargain”

This is a great, European style hotel. The rooms are small, shared bath, but if you're out late in New York (and if you aren't, you should be!) and you just need a central place to crash, this is perfect.

“Does Exactly What It Says On The Tin”

Amazing location, allowing you to easily drop in and out of the hotel as you explore NYC. Small room but very clean, air-conditioning (bit loud), get towels etc and shared bathroom always free. Staff friendly. If you want to spend your time in NYC in your hotel room don't bother but this hotel has no pretensions, and does what it does brilliantly (all the basics) allowing you time and money to use in NYC, unless you want (and do you really need to use?) 4/5-Star, this wins every time....

“Great price, extremely clean, and that's about it”

This hotel has a good room rate for NY, tiny, extremely clean rooms with no amenities (except for a sink, which was welcome), and a well-kept up shared bathroom. Very friendly staff. May not be for everyone and may not be comfortable for a longer stay, but if you're on a budget and won't be hanging out in your hotel this is a great choice.

“Over my expectations”

This is a great option for staying in NY. Even with shared facilities, we had no problems at all. The place is spotless clean. Great location. We will go for it again next time in NY.
