“If your going to New York this hotel is a must for somewhere to stay.”

We got to the hotel late to find all the rooms with views had gone,but would be available the next day for us to change. Our room was 6c which was on the inside of the building and to our surprise a little gem.It was the best hotel room i've stayed in. The reason was, it was very quiet and we both had a good night sleep each night because it was not near to any traffic or noise.

“Renovation is excellent”

“first class hotel”

great hotel,all rooms refurnished and ground floor renovations now completed to a high standard, ideal for the business traveller.Hotel features well regarded burger and bar facility called rare...superb food . rooftop bar offers pleasant venue for evening leisure time. have no hesitation in recomending this particular hotel to the more discerning traveller.

“Great rooms”

We had a one bedroom deluxe and were very happy with our room. It had a large living room with a pull-out sofa and flat panel tv and a full bath and a large bedroom with a comfortable bed and another tv and full bath. Perfect for our family of four. The hotel restaurant was excellent.

“Très bon hôtel à New york: proche de Empire state building et Crysler building”

Très bon hôtel,bien situé, avec vue sur Empire State building. A proximité de la Grande Centrale et Chrysler building. Le personnel très accueillant. Les chambres spacieuses, très propres. Les lits sont grands et très confortables. Métro sur 33 street, ligne directe vers Brooklyn bridge et Chinatown. Bon petit déjeuner au restaurant de l'hôtel. Nous y avons passés 4 jours superbes.

“Unbelieveably quiet”

We chose this hotel because of the price / location and it turned out to be perfect. You can easily walk to the Empire State from where we picked up the hop on / hop off bus (for which we bought our tickets from the hotel at quite a discount). We also walked to the tourist boat along the Hudson and to the theatre off Times Sq. The room was fine, not overly spacious, with 2 very comfortable double beds more than 140cm wide. The kitchenette was very useful for the fridge and even had a microwave. We were especially impressed with how quiet the room was - we heard the occasional emergency vehicle but no traffic noise. The air con was too noisy to leave on thro night though. We used the restaurant once for breakfast and were surprised to have 18% added on for service when it was a totally self-service buffet (no pancakes). But the hotel gives you a list of local alternatives and we found a typical diner round the corner which was much more satisfactory.

“A home away from home!!!”

We have staying at the Shelbourne for many years and have never been disappointed. This time we had our European friends with us and they loved it too. Sometimes we wished there were more spoons, knives and plates in the suites for easy eating in room.

“Best Customer Service”

Staff was very friendly & helpflu. Upon checking in I asked if our room had a view and the lady checking us in did not hesitate to look and see if there was a room available with view. There was and she promptly changed our room for us, and we were pleasantly surprised when we got to our room. We had a beautiful view of the Empire State Building. It was great! Anything we asked or needed help with, it didn't matter who was at the front desk they were all friendly and ready to help.
