Great location

Posted 20-Jul-2015
Not only was the hotel itself and the staff great, but the location of this spot was PERFECT for us. My mom and I were able to walk to bourbon street, the French market, Cafe du Monde, and so many other places! We really enjoyed our stay here, and totally took advantage of their great concierge service! We also really loved the special touches of turn down service. And don't forget the beautiful courtyard fountain at the entrance. It was just such a nice touch!

WiFi doesn't work

Posted 19-Jul-2015
There was a dead bug in the living room of my club level Suite for 2 nights. There are not enough trash cans in that large room and when I asked for more they just moved the existing around. Food at club level was pretty good and the spa was great.

Lovely Hotel but needs a little work

Posted 13-Jul-2015
We are local and reserved a suite just to have a fun night out. Arrived at 4 PM; it was not ready. The man at check in said he "upgraded us to a suite" (untrue - we had reserved and paid for a suite) and would call us when the room was ready. Frankly, at these rates, I expect my room ready on time. We were called and able to check in about an hour and fifteen minutes later. When we returned, the woman at check in did not offer even a cursory apology for this. We had a lovely night listening to Anais St John and then Robin Barnes - both were really great experiences - and the service in both lobby bar and lounge was impeccable. The drinks were great, too. However, for a hotel of this caliber, we found the food mediocre. We did not eat much here - some truffle fries, and room service breakfast. But none of the things we did eat were great. The Fries did not taste much of truffles and were not even particularly good fries. And the Windsor Benedict, which came with a crawfish cake, was almost inedibly salty. The bacon with a standard egg breakfast was burned and the 'sunny side up' eggs had broken yolks. Our room was beautiful and the service, aside from check in, was really great. But some of these smaller issues with check in and food should really be looked at.

One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in.

From the time we drove up, our experience was exceptional. Beautiful hotel, spacious comfortable room and delicious food. The afternoon tea is a must and so enjoyable. The hotel staff go over and beyond to make your stay more enjoyable the nightly turn down service was very appreciated and my child loved the chocolates and pralines they left for us. We only encountered one person as we were checking out that was not very friendly. He only asked for our room number and never asked about our stay or thanked us for staying there, have a good day or anything else. He basically handed me a copy of the bill and said nothing else. The other hotel staff made up for the rudeness of this one individual.

Best in Nola

Pros: Location, view, bar, service.
Cons: Not much
Location: French Quarter,
We love this place. Very friendly and can't beat the views. I think it's the best hotel in New Orleans and well located. It's our home when we are there.

Most wonderful experience ever!!

Pros: The ambience and the kind staff.
Cons: I actually cant think of anything!!
Location: This is very close to the street cars, easy to get around, by good shopping, french quarter, the casino..all around wonderful location.
Frankly this was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed at...and I am a traveler.. This is like a part of Europe in a unique American city. The service was fantastic! I took my 3 daughters and 2 grandchildren to tour New Orleans for a few days and we stayed in the Club Suite, WOW is what I have to say. The room was wonderful, my daughters had so much fun, the grandkids (who are quite little) were a joy to be with..because there was enough room for all of us. Then we had wonderful breakfasts, got to take along some water for our busy days, and enjoyed appetizers at night. The last day we were there, the daughters and the kids went out for one more buggy ride and I stayed in the wonderful ambience of the hotel..loved it! I am definately wanting to come back, this time with hubby..for a bit more leisure..but the place is wonderful, the location is the best, and the ambience is out of this world.. This should be a definate must if you want to stay in New Orleans and like a quiet charming place...

Very nice hotel but did not honor requests...

Posted 29-May-2015
Windsor Court is a very nice hotel. Being just outside the French Quarter made it quieter at night than many other hotels but it is still close enough that you can walk pretty much anywhere. The Club Level amenities are worth the extra price as I skipped 1-2 meals per day of eating out as I would have usually done on vacation, plus the concierge booked most of our activities for us. On the down side, we had requested a room with a river view and a mini fridge, both of which were confirmed by the staff weeks in advance, and neither of which were actually available when we checked in. They did bring us a small fridge but it was absolutely filthy (dried food inside, outside was dented and scratched up, looked like it was sitting outdoors for a while) and I really didn't use it as a result. Last, on the day of checkout, despite having a late checkout arranged (1PM instead of Noon), two staff members showed up trying to clean the room PRIOR to 10AM, and two more, including someone in a suit, came by between noon and 12:15 trying to kick us out. I'm torn on the overall experience because I really liked the room and SOME of the staff were great. The ones that weren't seemed more hampered by paperwork than a lack of desire to help. Maybe they just need a software upgrade or something...
