“Center of Frenchmen's”
I enjoyed my stay at the Frenchmen Orleans at 519. I planned to go to the nightclubs and that was the perfect location. After a long night, we relaxed in the hot tub while enjoying a beverage ... and this was December 2011. The included parking and internet service were also a plus. It's nice having a full kitchen away from home, even though in New Orleans it is unlikely that you'll have use for them. I would definitely recommend this hotel to someone who wanted to experience the New Orleans nightclub scene away from Bourbon.
“close to everything”
I had never been to New Orleans and I was impressed with the proximity of this condo-hotel to all you needed. Two blocks from the huge French Market, Bourbon street, DBA (a popular music venue across the street from the hotel), there was a balcony facing Frenchman street so you could listen to the music later at night. A small pool and jacuzzi in a private back yard, parking behind the hotel for $12 a day. I can't say enough to recommend this place. I don't think you can find better quality-value in the area. Full kitchen was useful for breakfast before you hit the street. Staff was very freindly and helpful. fil
“Hope to stay here again soon!”
Frenchmen Orleans at 519 was the perfect location for us to stay in New Orleans. Our 2 bedroom suite was really spacious and nice. So much better than staying in a regular hotel room. My friend and I had our own bedrooms with wall mounted flat screen tvs. The bathroom was large, with a double sink vanity and a soaker tub and shower. It was great having the living room and full kitchen, too...not that we cooked. We did see a tiny mouse run under the stove in the kitchen on our first day and they offered to move us but we really liked the suite so we stayed. We put a towel in front of the stove and kept our food in the fridge and never saw it again. A bedroom door opened into the courtyard and we swam in the pool and soaked in the hot tub daily after running around the city and before going out at night. Perfect walking distance to the French Quarter and the French Market, but Frenchmen Street is so much fun you can just walk out the door for great clubs and music. It really is the place to stay. Music was loud at night, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. The staff was helpful and very nice. We were mistakenly billed on the credit card at check out, but they fixed it. Our flight out was later in the day and they let us check out late and kept our bags for us for a few hours. I would love to stay here again in the future.
“Our Honeymoon Was Fabulous!!!”
Check-In was quick and recevied a card to park in back for small daily fee (almost nothing compared to other parking fees at other hotels). Our stay at the Frenchman Orleans 519 was on the 3rd floor and was not to bad of a climb (no elevators)...all of the entrances to the condos are located inside the private courtyard completed with highpowered fans to keep you cool. Each Floor, except 1st floor, has a balcony with seating which looks out onto the street. Once we entered our room I was immediately impressed, it reminded me of a one bedroom apartment. This condo is well worth the money we paid for it (you pay the about the same, maybe even less than staying in a hotel around New Orleans). I guess I would say the negatives are the bed in our condo wasn't as comfortable as I would have liked it to be (I would have rathered a soft, pillow-top mattress), shower wasn't very high powered and water didn't drain very well in the tub (although, maybe if I would have called lobby about drainage problem this could have been corrected but I didn't see the need...not a major problem for me), several clubs across the street and it is nosey until about 2/3 am, but that is the New Orleans expericence and didn't bother us. The Frenchman Orleans at 519 has no WiFi but staff said they are working on getting this, they also directed me to a coffee shop right down the street that has it. We loved it here and will definately be going back... would not stay anywhere else in NOLA!!!
“will stay here again”
Very nice property. We always stay in the quarter when we go but decided to stay in the Marigny area. It is like a small apt. Kitchen with fridge and stove & microwave. Loved it. 2 blocks to French market. 2 blocks to french quarter. Shooting some sort of tv show or movie across street while there. Nice restaurants around and easy walk everywhere. Jazz music a little loud but not as bad as Bourbon St. Bought a sound machine and all was good. Would recommend especially for the price. New Orleans is expensive and the hotels in French quarter are expensive and parking especially $$. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay great!! Parking is cheap for New Orleans. Great restaurants down Decatur, also great restaurants on Frenchmen.
“Frenchman 519”
Had a great couple of days at this hotel, considering I was on my own - a two bedroom apartment felt like a bit of a luxury..kitchen extremely well equipped, lounge very spacious - within walking distance of everything to see in the French Quarter..Staff were very helpful, only thing that may distract is music from the bars but thats part of the charm! Enjoy!
“Looking forward to going back”
This was our first trip to New Orleans and I have to say Jared and his staff really helped make it very pleasurable. They assisted us with directions, where to go for finding restaurants, to printing our boarding passes when we had to leave. We are looking forward to our return trip and staying again. The rooms were clean, the kitchen/dining area was nicely set up along with the living room. It was so much nicer than staying in a Hotel.
“Luxury off the beaten path”
We had a great stay in a great area of New Orleans. It's just outside the proper French Quarter but still within walking distance to everything. While the Frenchmen didn't have a proper hotel feel or services, the condo was VERY comfortable, very well equipped, and was very clean. I would definitely stay there again.
“great location”
The hotel was right where all the action was, but yet somehow still quiet when it was time for bed. Beautiful little condo with full kitchen. great place to stay!
“Will definitely stay here again”
Rates were extremely competitive, and the manager even offered to match some other places' rates. Yes you will hear plenty of live jazz from across the street. Bring earplugs if you can't sleep thru it. We came for our honeymoon and it was perfect. We had the hot tub to ourselves the whole time we were there. Very good place to stay if you want a getaway from Bourbon, but still within walking distance of everything.
