Perfect hotel for grown ups.

Posted 23-Apr-2014
This hotel was just outside the French Quarter keeping reasonably priced and pretty quiet. The staff were EXCELLENT! Very helpful and kind. The free breakfast was a great way to wake up every morning and way more than your average muffins any toast. Very clean, comfortable beds, great amenities and an all around great experience. Will definitely be staying there again.

Great location

Posted 21-Apr-2014
Pros: Location and complimentary breakfast
Cons: Although breakfast was adequate, it was somewhat chaotic.
The hotel was within walking distance to all attractions in either direction. Close to trolley, great restaurants, Warehouse District, WWII Museum. Friendly staff and very comfortable lobby.

Good location Reasonable Value

Posted 20-Apr-2014
The hotel is close to the WWII Museum and about 4 block from the edge of French town. Also one block from Poydras. The breakfast area was a little crowded but otherwise, we had a great stay. Cookies available at all times in reception, should you by some minuscule chance not have eaten enough in this great town! We had a great stay. Music, museums, garden district walk, trams. We really did it all. Stayed for a total of 4 nights. Can't wait to return.

Ok stay

Posted 13-Apr-2014
Arrived an hour after check in but room was not ready. Had to wait 15-20 minutes for the room. Overall it's in a decent location. You could hear through the walls. For the price per night I thought the condition of the room could have been better.

A friendly and welcoming hotel!

Posted 10-Apr-2014
Pros: The friendliness of the staff and other patrons; the complimentary breakfast; the price; cookies all day long; a comfortable king-size bed.
Location: Near the French Quarter, and the Riverwalk. Close to the trolleys to the Garden District and City Park and the river. Jackson Square was great!
We came to New Orleans because I was attending the National School Board convention. We stayed in two hotels, because the school district made reservations for those attending at the Hilton Riverside. My husband and I came early, so I made the reservations at Country Inn and Suites. It was, by far, our favorite. It had a soul. It included a wonderful breakfast, and had snacks for sale in the evening. We got a pizza that was surprisingly good, and enough to have for two dinners. People were friendly, and although there were a lot of patrons, it was not chaotic. Our room wasn't large, but it was sufficient and comfortable, and the bathroom was very nice sized and clean. The staff was uniformly helpful and friendly, and we were made welcome from the moment we arrived until our departure. The location is within a block and a half from the French Quarter, and close to trolleys that take one to other parts of the city. The cost was less than half the cost of the other hotel, and included far more amenities.

Nice hotel clean beds and rooms

Posted 10-Apr-2014
Pros: we stay here every year when we go to New Orleans because its close to all places of interest. Staff is really warm and pleasant.
Cons: yes the breakfast could be better
Location: well located hotel every thing was close by and easy to locate
This is the first time we took a room with a King Bed with extra sofa bed. The room was really dark and small the least this room could be a bit bigger plus this room did not have any view from the room. So a bit disappointed with the room we got we asked for a change but they said that King Bed rooms are all the same. Best ask for two queen beds at least the rooms are bigger.

Wonderful Visit

Posted 3-Apr-2014
Pros: Old world look and feel
Cons: Parking is a real problem. We circled the block many times just to get to the guy who took our car. Getting car back can take a long time too.
Location: Great location-easy walk to lots of the reasons you go to New Orleans
It had been awhile since our last visit to New Orleans. Never stayed at Carlson's in New Orleans before. It is not like any other Carlson's we have stayed at. It is very rustic and old New Orleans on the inside. I was looking for a much more modern room with the new clean look of an up scale Carlson's. This hotel is comfortable but it is also old and rough. We got use to it after a bit. We had a wonderful time in New Orleans and are already planning a return trip. When we do we will consider returning to Carlson's.

Perfect location with great service and breakfast.

Posted 1-Apr-2014
Pros: Location, free breakfast (that we actually wanted to eat) and the friendly staff.
Cons: No complaints. I really can't think of anything.
Location: We visited the French Quarter and the World War II museum, both an easy walk from the hotel. Access to the hop on-off bus was nearby.
We recently stayed two nights after a 5 day cruise. We were able to pre-check in and store our luggage while we explored the city. The staff called us when our rooms were ready and we could return at our leisure. We had a queen suite room and a king room which were both spacious and comfortable. The location was perfect as we could walk to the river, the French Quarter, the World War II museum, etc. The staff was very knowledgable, friendly and prompt. The breakfast was good for a hotel buffett breakfast. The food had taste, it was always well stocked and the variety was good. This will be our first choice the next time we visit New Orleans.
