“Good considering Katrina damage”
This was a decent hotel for the price. It is in an area that received extensive flooding from hurricane Katrina; in fact the hotel lobby had been under about six feet of water, according to the receptionist when we checked in. The first room we were given did not have a t.v., and the sliding glass door on the balcony was stuck open by about eight inches. The management quickly provided us with a new room and apologized, which was nice. The hotel is still undergoing some repair work, and is clearly not in top shape. The elevator ran very slowly, the room numbers were simply pieces of paper that had been taped over the door frames, and some remodeling was being performed in the lobby. That said, the essentials were fine; the beds were comfortable, the television worked, the towels were clean, the water pressure was strong, the room temperature was fine, and I felt safe (granted, I'm a guy; I doubt I would want my girlfriend to stay here alone).
“OK considering the price.”
For a cheap hotel, this one was acceptable. The room was clean and in fairly good shape. The A/C worked, though it was noisy. Other than it's location, my only complaint was that the fridge was so noisy I wound up unplugging it; since I wasn't using it anyway. All in all, though the building was showing it's age, it's apparent that the managers are trying to keep it clean. I guess if you have a car, the location pretty good (right off Highway 10). But because I was trying to get by without renting a car and was dependent on public transportation, this one wasn't a good choice for me. Live and learn.
“Avoid this hotel like the plague”
I have stayed in many two star hotels and this is definitely the worst by far. The lobby, the elevator, the hallways, and the room looked like something from a third-world country. The last guest stole 3 lightbulbs from my room so I called the front desk to get some bulbs. The tv had a large chip right in the center of the screen. The toilet wouldn't hold water in the tank so I just turned the water off to silence it for the night. The faucet was almost stuck and was difficult to turn off and on. There was no wireless so I paid a $20 deposit at the front desk for an ethernet cable. When I plugged in there was no access at all so I returned the cable minutes later. I drove to the nearest hotel to use their internet for booking my next hotel. This is not a 2-star hotel.
“should have heeded other reviews”
no maid service for two days window nailed shut air conditioner leaked soaking carpet(reported to main desk,no fix) but had to have it on otherwise you couldn't breath in the room caught a nasty cold and middle ear infection but don't know if that was due to the conditions in the room or the heat, humidity, rain and flooding of the streets in New Orleans during my stay.
“Not Impressed”
The lady that checked us in was really nice. But, the room was dirty. The coffee pot had old coffee in it. One of the beds was on the floor. The floor was wet, I guess that is why the room smelled. The lights by the bed did not work. There was nothing open in this town except for a McDonalds and this hotel, you have to drive to downtown New Orleans or Slidell for food. The pool was very Green.
“Bed is ash trash”
Someone knocked the ash off his/her cigarette, they didn't clean the room, we did request room change or clean the room, manager refuse my request, bad experience. room so dirty
“Don't go to this hotel.”
Bad location and terribly maintained.
“Prison or a Hotel!!”
When i checked there was a sign on the front door stating that there were no visitors allow on the property after 7pm. Are you serious? What kind of hotel/establishment has this kind of rule in place. The cleanliness of the room was ok, to my surprise. However, when i pulled the covers back there was a king fitted sheets on the bed instead of a queen which was suppose to be on the bed. I could not have waited until morning so I could have left that place. NOT RECOMMENDED. Also the front desk agent was unprofessional and "ghetto'.
