“Inexpensive, old hotel with character.”
This is an excellent hotel for a very reasonable price. It's not new or expensive. I will stay there again. It's "old" atmssphere is unique.
“great stay”
Great price for a great location. Also, extremely happy with the cleanliness and service.
“A TRUE NEW ORLEANS GEM”

“Great place”
Great hotel with short distance to everywhere I need to go.
“Tom Waits would be proud.”
Great old converted office building. Magnificent hard wood floors, better bathroom then last time with a garden tub for the King. The Only place worth staying at near the Quarter, but not too close!
“Glad We Gave this hotel another chance”
From the moment we arrived, we received nothing but the best of service and friendliness from the hotel staff. Patrick was so very accommodating when we checked in and so nice to us. So was Chelsea. Jose, the trouble shooting maintenance man went above and beyond and should be commended for his kindness as well. All the employees we came in contact with were so friendly and accommodating. When we stayed here in Oct 2008, it was a different story, however. The Manager was a beast and treated us horribly. I'm so glad I decided to give this hotel another chance. It's the perfect location to walk everywhere in NOLA. My entire family enjoyed the hotel so much. It really made a difference in our visit to NOLA this time.
“summary”
Beautiful antique feel. Walking distance from french quarter, farther from garden district but it is possible to walk. I didn't like my view of the harrah's parking lot. It was great to have the free continental breakfast but no hot foods available. There was contsruction going on on tchoupitoulas st so it became annoying to walk back to the hotel, but simply use the lovely magazine street one block up! I used the business center (which is just one computer) to print my boarding passes so that was very convenient.
“Relatively cheap option for the neighborhood”
We chose the Ambassador because of its price in comparison to all other hotels in the area. Still a little expensive (on a student budget), but the neighborhood was well worth it. It was an easy walk to Canal/the French Quarter, and had access to streetcars to go Uptown and other daytime sights. The proximity to nightlife (although a little far from Frenchmen's) was perfect, as we didn't have to depend on a taxi or public transportation to get back. Be aware that the hotel does charge a $10/night amenities fee that's separate from the Expedia booking.
“New Orleans Ambassador Hotel”
Very happy with the hotel and staff, would definitely stay there again
“Loved the details.”
Everything was wonderful except I was billed incorrectly which took $140 out of my account cutting my 'play' money even before I started my vacation. I even made sure to ask the woman at the front desk if I would be billed for my room mates valet parking ($32 per day) and was assured I would not, however I was billed and even though my room mate paid for the parking when we left it has been 5 days and I have yet to receive a refund.
