“Short stop-over basics.”

This hotel is basic, no frills which is what we needed for our one night stopover with a late check-in. Some initial consternation upon arrival as it was shift change over and neither reception staff seemed to want to handle our check-in! The chap who eventually saw to us was not very helpful when it came to directing us to the car park. However this was the exception - the other staff were lovely and friendly, very nice indeed. The hotel itself is basic and quite old fashioned but had everything we needed for our short stay. The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace, chatting to the restaurant staff and watching the local birds.

“Margoa”

Solid if unspectacular. You get what you pay for and the price of the Margoa is right. Nice extra is free wifi. Breakfast is fine, service was attentive. If you want a 5-star experience this is not your place and doesn't pretend to be. If you want great location, decent and clean room - Margoa is a god value.

“Decent place for a lay-over, not a vacation”

This hotel provided the basics, and is a cost effective solution if you simply need a place to rest your head and shower. If, however, you plan on spending a relaxing lay-over day at this hotel and the beach the atmosphere may be less than pleasing as the decor and facility is old and weathered, the furniture is cheap, and the surrounding area is not very interesting. The staff is not very helpful or courteous, and overall although the room provided all we needed we always just felt the urge to leave the hotel as soon as possible. Also, the breakfast was luke warm and the dining room dirty, so we only ate breakfast at the hotel once.
