Stayed in a 1 bedroom. The queen bed was in the lounge and the curtains let a lot of light through. But for the price, very satisfied. Would stay again for sure.

It was a little hard to find the office as it is set back from the street, but once we did, we were met by the most gracious staff. Appreciated that we had an assigned parking spot for our room. Hotel was quiet and has a dedicated restaurant on site. Very convenient for our stay in Nelson.

We were put in the room next to Reception. On the first night, the noise from behind the reception area was excessive. On the second night of our stay, we made staff aware of the problem at about 7 o’clock and the noise mostly from young children was stopped. Our room was supposed to be an invalid room, even though we are not invalids, there was a 6 foot and 3 foot bed in the room. The 6 foot bed was slammed against the window so unless you are prepared to jump across the bed couldn’t get into bed. Consequently, my wife slept in a 3 foot bed. 3 foot bed was too close to the door to the bathroom. So anyone in a wheelchair would not have been able to get into the bathroom. The door to the bathroom squeaked! At Reception on leaving we told the staff of the issues with the room and they apologised and said they were aware of the problem and thought it had been solved. Obviously the hotel it’s not managed properly.

Stayed on a family holiday, 2 adults 2 children. Room was a great size, clean and comfortable. We don’t normally dine in hotel restaurants as they are normally expensive and menus aren’t suitable for kids but the restaurant had something for everyone, the food was great and was very reasonably priced. The kids swam in the pool and had a great time. Would definitely recommend it was our second time staying was also close to the CBD and supermarket.

The only issue with this property was the internet in certain rooms. Our first room no.67 did it have any internet connection, so we were moved to no. 8 near the reception and it was fine. Both rooms were very nice, they just need to make sure internet is in all the rooms. However we would stay here again

Unfortunately we were disappointed here as it was very expensive and we couldn't get the wifi to work despite asking for help. We expected there to be a gym and were told was out of action indefinitely. Also there were very minimal cooking crockery / utensils such as no ovenware or oven tray to use the oven.

Had I thought to ask, I would have requested a downstairs room as we had quite a bit of gear. Room was nice. Two queens beds. Air con. Good sized fridge with a very decent separate freezer. Two burner cooktop and a microwave. Nice deck with table and chairs. I’d forgetten they had a pool til we drove away, but my daughter said it was closed the evening we arrived anyway. Would happily stay here again

Disappointing stay
As a regular guest I was extremely disappointed how I was treated when the room I checked in to had an awful smell in the bathroom that I suspected was a blocked toilet. The reception person was not very apologetic and told me I could be moved to another room for the night but there would be no room for me the following night due to hotel being booked out so told 'don't unpack and get comfortable". It wasn't until the next day and a different receptionist advised that I could stay in my new room for the following night - I was left the night before worried about where I was going to stay for the rest of my trip. A bit more understanding and an apology would have helped.

The bed was very comfortable. There wasn’t any heat but the comforter was warm. I wasn’t too thrilled about the stairs to get to the second floor. It was a nice quiet place and I had an excellent salmon eggs Benedict in the morning. The staff were wonderful. I would recommend this place.

The restaurant staff were Amazing!! Highly recommend. The staff that clean the room arrived at 9.35am...check out is 10am....she almost walked straight into the room while i was undressed! Not happy!!

Rooms are very nice and comfortable, clean and well kept. The staff are lovely and always happy to help whenever possible, and are always smiling, greeting you and laughing. Would highly recommend and would love to go back again if I ever come back to NZ :)
